Check out this beautiful track and the 1950s cars running on it. I remember when Scalextric fencing was like this, replicating the fencing of circuits of the day. Notice too the backdrop which makes the tree line seem to go off into the distance.

Those are Cartrix slot cars lapping the track. Cartrix make a wide selection of cars of that period and its been suggested to me on SlotForum that we get a bunch of these and run them without magnets on FRC. Apparently they're a lot of fun, not to mention that they represent another period in Grand Prix racing we've always ignored, a period of some of the greats like Fangio, Moss, Ascari, Farina and others.

Lovely track. I'd love to race such cars (with no magnets , of course),maybe even the vintage Scalextric F1 cars. Difficulty would be in the actual chipping of the cars. Other difficulty might be to get agreement on racing mag-less cars.
