Upgraded chips

Post by gordon »

Guys,

I have to send some chips to Greg Myers to be upgraded. These include some for Luke and for Steve, so far. If any of you have any failed chips or just want any working chips upgraded please let me know ASAP.

Here are Greg's charges:
  • 3 failed chips = 1 upgraded chip free
  • Upgrade a standard chip (failed or working) = US$12
  • Shipping: US$3.50 for all chips in a shipment (US address only).
Also, each chip needs to have all of the wires and lane change sensor attached. Bear in mind that there can be some chips burnt beyond repair.

Finally, I have to pay shipping to send the chips to Greg and to get them from the US back to T&T. Don't know what these costs are as yet.

So count up your blown chips and let me know soon.

Luke,

Here are Greg's words to me in a SlotForum message around July/August 2011:
Gordon,
I can repair any style of scaly chip, also slotit chips. It can be a new chip, running chip or failed chip ( there are some chips burnt beyond repair). The upgrade includes both mosfet which allows larger motors to run on the scaly chip. And the diodes which improves the performance of any motor. To give you an example of how much the diode change improves performance I placed a slot.it car with the 20,500 motor with a standard slot.it chip on the track. Behind it I placed a scaly car with the standard 18,000 rpm motor. Programmed both on the same controller and the scaly car pushed the slot.it car around the track. I would love to have some more chips to be able to uprade and sell. If you are intersted in the exchange the chips for me to keep need to have all of the wires and lane change sensor attached. So for every 3 failed chips you could send I would send 1 back upgraded at no charge. If you just want me to upgrade your chips the cost is $12.00 USD per chip and shipping of $3.50 that covers all the chips of any shipment.
I don't know if things have changed since.

Hi Gordon,
I'd appreciate if you could enquire whether a modified Scalex. F1 chip could be purchased outright, ie. if someone didn't have a blown (or even working) one to send for the modification.

OMG GG ~ dats great news :D

When mod chips came on the scene, I was asking you or Ray what was the deal and got a reply from Ray on the FRC forum that its 4-1... You did tell me it was 3-1 but wasn't sure and said you will check it over.

Anyway, let by gones be by gones because with the amount of blow chips I gave you it looks like the more the merry :D

LIKE WE RACING THE F430'S JUST NOW TOO 8-)

Dont forget we trying for (Six) Mod DPR chips to put in the F430 Ferraris for quick & easy installation...
