RACE REPORT #296 - Apr 23rd 2022 (BTCCnm, MPnm, GTnm)

Steve, O'Brie, Peter and I had a fun afternoon at FRC doing some practicing and tuning of cars for our new Group B classes comprising BTCC, American Pony Car (APC), Modified Production (MP) and GT, finally racing all but the APC class.

During the test and tune session, O'Brie's MP BMW 320i was transformed by the replacement of its over-powered motor to something much better suited to driving it without magnets on the twisty FRC circuit. A previously almost undrivable car became a very competitive racer. Peter got up to good speed and consistency, despite not being a regular driver and Steve has become the new Ramesh, at least until the real one returns to FRC!

Congratulations to the winners.

Next event's classes: To be determined.

Don't forget to see the updated overall fastest times and the fastest no-magnet times by driver and class to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Older stats can be found in the Archive area of the forum.

See you on the circuit...

Great afternoon of racing as usual at FRC. Nice to have Peter show up and actually race all three races that we ran. It was fun driving these fast cars ! Was glad to see the combined efforts of O'Brie and Gordon unleash the potential of O'brie's Mod.Prod. BMW 320i. Note that Gordon has called me the 'new Ramesh' ! This is indeed some compliment but I doubt that the real Ramesh would have gotten three pole positions and only won one race !
Congrats to O'Brie and Gordon on winning Mod.Prod. and BTCC classes respectively.
Looking forward to the next event.
Steve
