Racing resuming next Thursday

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

After the long COVID lockdown, we're easing back into participating in our favourite hobby with a bit of a different event on July 9th. This one will primarily be for us to start doing some driving again as we test our cars and run some informal races for Kitbash and the new proposed Clubman class.

Because of the ongoing COVID threat, we're going to be implementing a few cautionary measures, as follows:
  1. Face masks are required (both nose and mouth must be covered).
  2. Hand sanitiser will be provided - please use on entry and whenever otherwise necessary.
  3. As much physical distancing as is practical. This doesn't have to be six feet, but don't be falling over one another.
  4. Regarding item 3 above, we will be implementing something to allow some distancing when driving. More info on this when you arrive.
Key points to pass tech inspection:
  • Kitbash - H&R Racing 14K or M/T-SL1 FF 14.7K motor; no traction magnets allowed; 1.0 mm minimum ground clearance under motor; 64 mm maximum outer track limit (left to right tyre edges).
  • Clubman - 8mm maximum tread width; wheels and tyres must not be visible when viewing body from above; FC130 or FF up to 18K; no traction magnets allowed; 1.0 mm minimum ground clearance under motor; 55 mm maximum outer track limit (left to right tyre edges).
  • All cars - must have racing numbers displayed at least on each side. Owners are encouraged to include other realistic-looking decoration on their cars, such as sponsor advertising and number roundels.
You can see the 2020 class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Will be there for sure !
Love the photos of the TR4 and Cortina. I know that these are two models which will be in action then.

Gordon,

Lots more to think and see about with your FRC Events.

Sorry I can't say now if I will be attending this upcoming event because No Cars (for these classes) but closer to the day, will decide even it's just for a visit.

That said ... this is definitely a 2020 racing event record ..!

No Racing ... most of March, all of April, May & June plus first week in July ...

Checked 17 weeks & all because of the Covid-19 situation and (yet still) it's such an unbelievable experience.

Nonetheless - it's July 1st. & have a great day :)
