Servicing/repairing old controllers

Post by gordon »

Guys, I have a few dozen used Scalextric digital controllers that have been put aside over the years because of minor faults in their operation. I believe that many of these can be serviced or repaired and put back to use rather than purchasing new ones.

Most of the issues will revolve around the trigger mechanism and how it interacts with the other static internal components. It will probably take some slight thinking and ingenuity and maybe some minor modifications and of course we'll have to test each one afterwards, but I think its worth a try.

Anyone interested in helping out with this project?

Suggestion:

Have a Saturday evening lime with slotcar racing drivers & all the SSD controllers ...

In this way it wouldn’t be a Dull job but rather a Thrilling “controller repairs” Event :)

We still have to work on the track so it could happen when we are doing that. “Many Hands Make Lite work”
