Racing this Thursday 18 Jan (MP, RGT, RLMP)

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice, testing and racing from 7:30 PM this Thursday (18th January) for our first event for 2018, featuring our Group C classes - Modified Production (MP), Restricted GT (RGT), Restricted LMP (RLMP). We'll run special IROC races for newcomers if we have at least two new drivers present.

We plan to start at 8:30PM sharp. Here's the usual schedule:
  • Free practice and testing up to 8:30 PM
  • 8:30 PM - Technical Inspection (excluding IROC classes). Cars will be moved to the parc fermé location after they are inspected and comply with the requirements.
  • Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • Post-race Technical Inspection (if required).
  • After racing - Packing up and liming/old talk (but not too late!).
Key points to pass tech inspection:
  • Modified Production - Motors up to 23,500 RPM; no American muscle/pony cars allowed; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); magnet location restriction if motor exceeds 20,000 RPM; USD rule.
  • Restricted GT - Motors up to 23,500 RPM; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); USD rule.
  • Restricted LMP - Motors up to 25,000 RPM; 1.0 mm ground clearance (see the "General" section of the class regulations for a picture of how this will be checked); USD rule.
You can see the 2018 class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Hi all and will notice (when reading) nothing has change much because not 100% sure ... and even if I do show up (will let known closer to time) that I still have no cars tuned other than my Christmas gift MMII slotcar.

Looking at those action-pack shots wondered if the Mod Prod racing is a circuit in Norway ...

Btw I stayed home today because I had a fall in the yard Sunday at noon running to pick up my daughter's school shoes when (all of a sudden) it started to rain heavy.

Long story short - I slipped and went airborne from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds and back to 0 in another 2 seconds

Dealing with some painful recovery but nothing serious. My father said I did well to get up and still see about myself.

Will keep in touch about Thursday event.

Sorry to hear about your fall Luke. Hope you feel better soon and well enough to attend the first 2018 event. There are always cars for you to drive - you're like Team Bhola's third driver!

What I find is going very very fast more so now than before is time because remembering (and like only weeks ago) when Gordon invited us all ... to attend the first 2017 event ..!

Good Morning all,

Here's a perfect example (mere hours from my previous post) about TIME .. :!:

Last night I went to bed around 8:30 pm and before falling to sleep turned off night lamp and the clock showed 9:15 pm ... It felt like not long after when I woke up and the clock was showing 5:00 am ...
  • How in the world could hours seem like minutes .. :?:
Anyway had a good night's rest and as usual gave thanks to GOD above and asked for protection & guidance with new day ahead. Plus noticed body pains from my fall not feeling as bad and going to work today 8-)

A great day to you all,

Luke
