A suggestion for a next FRC Endur. Event ...

Post by Luke »

A suggestion for a next FRC Endurance Event ...

Here's a tally (through the years) of the 6 Endur. Events:
  • Race Day - Class / Winner - Year ... & (gazing at) my finishing positions :)

    7. RD000 - TBA
    6. RD332 - Slot.It Challenge 100-Lap Endur. / Gordon - 2025 ... DNF
    5. RD331 - Sedan/Sport Cars 400-Lap Endur. / Peter - 2024 ... 3rd
    4. RD196 - LMP-E/GT-E 1-Hour Endur. / Luke B. & Ramesh - 2015 ... 2nd.
    3. RD166 - VS 2-Hour Endur. / Gordon & Steve - 2014 ... 4th.
    2. RD100 - RGT, SC & VS 1-Hour Endur. / Gordon & Arden - 2012 ... 1st. RGT
    1. RD033 - GT & LMP Endur. / Gordon & Shane - 2009 ... DNS
That said, here is my suggestion ...

FRC Formula Libre 3-Hour Endurance Event ... with a race format, somewhat like RD331 SSC 400-Lap Endur. 2024 Event 8-)

The lap times could be nothing less than 9.000 seconds and so on ...

Plus, to have at a certain level of experienced racing & hold with regular & long-serving drivers ;)
  • Gordon
  • Steve
  • Peter
  • O'brie
  • Keith A
  • Luke
  • Ramesh
  • Liam
  • Warren
  • Ian G (if available)
 What do you all devoted FRC racing drivers think  :?:

I wouldn't mind an endurance race of some type in the future but not sure if I like the idea of a minimum lap time. Maybe we can discuss further when next we meet.

How Formula Libre was FRC's very first racing class ... should there be an Endurance event 8-)

If hosted ... it will make it the 9th time raced, from 2009 to present day 2025 :!:
  • RD000 - Formula Libre / ______ - 2025 Endurance
  • Race Day - Class / Winner - Year:
  • RD224 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2016 Handicap
  • RD053 - Formula Libre / Douglas - 2010 Time Bracket
  • RD010 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2009
  • RD005 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2009
  • RD004 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2009
  • RD003 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2009
  • RD002 - Formula Libre / Shane - 2009
  • RD001 - Formula Libre / Gordon - 2009
The first 5 2009 Race Days ... were the very early FRC (only racing class) days, and not long after came all the others :D

Next in line, was the GT class ... then came LMP, AM & F1 classes etc. ;)

Regards to this racing suggestion :!:

How does this concept sound gents ...

Simply because of the many Scalextric models (at one's fingertip) these days :D

I took the enterprise & made-up a list of Racing Regs. & (of course) anyone can make refinements going forward ;)

Formula Libre (Scalextric) Endurance:
  • Period: 1980 - 2000 / Saloon or Sport Cars
  • Body Type: Original
  • Interior: Original
  • Chassis: Original
  • Digital Chip: Scalextric C7005 or C8515 / Retro or DPR- Fit
  • Motor: Stock 18K rpm
  • Configuration: Sidewinder or Inline
  • Gearing: Original 11:36 & 9:27
  • Front & Rear Axles: Original
  • Guide: Free
  • Tyres: Free
An extra bit of racing regs ...
  • No open-wheel models plus not-so-quick 8.000 sec. lap time cars allowed ...
 In order to compete at relative & realistic scale speeds ...

... especially around corners when pushed and (could aid no hitting of rails) basically, a feel for (and looking like) real racing cars 8-)

All in all ... surely it will keep the race even & enjoyable :)
