Allowing FC-130 motors up to 21.5K in F1

Post by gordon »

Guys,

I had a chat with Ramesh today regarding allowing FC-130 motors in F1 cars which can fit them, specifically Scalextric F1 cars. This could make these cars more competitive with our current ones that utilize 3D printed chassis and high-torque 18K FK-180 motors. Perhaps we can give them a try at our upcoming event.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hi Gordon,
I'm okay with the suggestion if it would allow ONLY the non 3D-printed cars to get closer to the times of the 3D ones. The problem is that all the current Scalextric F1 cars use the FF motor and it would be quite difficult to shoe-horn an FC-130 into one of those. This suggestion would only work for the much older F1 and F1-type cars which came with the FC-130 motor. What I wouldn't want to see happen though, is the 21.5 k rpm motor being fitted to the 3D cars with the possibility that these cars get even faster than they already are.

I agree Steve. This suggestion is directed at the Scalextric cars which can fit an FC-130 motor. It will not be allowed in the 3D chassis cars.

Don't worry Arden. Based on the comments above, its with immediate effect for the next event. If you beat everybody with one set up this way, we'll rethink the idea with immediate effect! :D

Sounds good but will have to be well policed and be under review for a few meetings to be fair to all
