New mystery car

Post by gordon »

This afternoon I finished off my final car for our next event (my Nissan R89C) and decided to try to move forward with a long outstanding conversion project. Got it to the point that I can run some tests with it , although there still needs to be some parts obtained and work done to complete it to comply 100% with the class requirements. I'd say it's about 95% there. Here's a pic of the underside:

Anyone care to take a guess at what car and class it is?

Nice remodelling work Gordon ..!

Done on your Scalextric Ferrari 330 P4 to race in Vintage Sports '60-'75 Prototype class :D

Well done Luke! I should have realized that you in particular would recognize it.

I still need to get correct wheels, tyres and wheel inserts. Once I do the tyres will be under the fenders and the car will look much more like the original.

Took a bit of work as the front, rear and part of each side are part of the original chassis (found this picture on the web, so ignore the arrows):

The interior also had to be shortened by removing about 3/16" from the bottom and a new floor added.

No worries Steve ...

No prize to be won today other than first place position :-)

That said, I remembered sometime ago you won a set of (Paul Gage) tyres.

Do you remember for what quiz :?:

Luke, that was another mystery car. In that case, it was the Dodge Challenger.
