Racing next Thursday 25th Apr (HS, APC, VS6075)

Post by gordon »

Guys, our postponed event from last Thursday will instead be held next Thursday (25th April) for the same previously scheduled classes, Historic Saloon (HS), American Pony Car (APC), Vintage Sports '60-'75 (VS6075). We'll be running the following updated schedule:

See you there!

Will be there for sure.
The previous notice had two races for each of HS and APC classes. This notice only has one. Is this a typo ?

Steve, I had a chat with both Arden and Ramesh recently (on separate occasions) and they each indicated that they really need to leave our events earlier than has been the norm. Considering the distance they have to travel, I can understand.

In addition, both O'Brie and I (and quite likely others) would prefer to finish the races by 10:30pm. As you notice from the schedule, the start time is 8:00pm instead of the usual 8:30pm. Ramesh suggested this, saying that they will leave south to arrive at FRC by that time. In the interest of keeping on this schedule, I'm going back to the decision we made some time ago to have a single race per class rather than two, at least for this event to see how things go.

This is four races for the night. I would much rather have two races for each of HS and APC and one combined VS GT/VS Prototype race. This would be a total of five races. If we make these races (except for the VS race) fifty instead of sixty laps, I don't think that the total racing time would be much different.
My feelings as already expressed on this topic still stand.

Ok, here's a compromise:

If we're running late, we'll make the necessary adjustments.
