Re-naming of classes

Post by steveaca »

I think we should consider removing the word 'Restricted' from our Restricted GT and Restricted LMP classes. Although the motor rpm and downforce limits have been reduced when compared to the previous versions of the GT and LMP classes, the fact is that there is no other GT or LMP class now so we have no need of making a distinction between 'full' GT and Restricted GT. Same for LMP. What are your thoughts ?

It’s an excellent (and well explained) suggestion Steve ...

Interestingly, thought to myself for sometime now.

Maybe how I’m hardly competing (racing) just didn’t bother to mention :-/

We spoke about this not too long ago. From a statistical standpoint, if we rename the classes, the current fastest laps will be mixed in with the previous ones, making them lose their current places as fastest laps.

Hello Gordon,

Guess I wasn’t present at the time and thank you for the reply (explanation) with “Re-naming of classes” suggestion.

Also, thought Steve may have been the one to respond (here) first but clearly I was ...
