RACE REPORT #266 - February 28th 2019 (HS, APC, VS6075)

Just Ramesh, Steve and I were present to race our historic classes, Historic Saloon (HS), American Pony Car (APC) and Vintage Sports '60-'75 (VS6075GT and VS6075P). We still went through the usual practice, tech inspection, qualifying and races with the relatively large number of cars present. I, for example, had two HS, two APC, two VS6075GT and two VS6075P cars on hand, all of which were practiced and inspected, four being eventually raced. Both Steve and Ramesh also arrived with several cars each, so the paddock was actually full.

With just three cars per race, the track was literally half-full, so we missed some of the usual down-field battles. However, in HS and APC in particular, cars were still within a couple laps of one another after completing 60 laps of racing. So between the four classes, we still managed 240 laps of racing, completing our objectives for the event.

Fun night of racing at FRC despite the small driver turnout. Nice to see the re-appearance of Gordon's lovely Ferrari 312PB. Congrats to Ram on winning all classes raced and, of course, taking the night's overall victory. Congrats to all who raced on their joint Index Of Performance award (zero points !). I don't think I've ever seen this before !
Looking forward to the next event.
Enjoy your Carnival and be safe !!
