Guys,
We currently run races for the two VS sub-categories (Prototype and GT) concurrently. At each event, we have just the usual three races, but drivers can choose to run either a Prototype or a GT car in each race and the results are computed for overall place as well as place in class (sub-category). Almost all drivers have cars that can race in each category but have to choose which category to race in and therefore, although they are in the same race, not everyone is really racing against each other.
From now on, we will be alternating the sub-categories so that we do three races for only one sub-category at each event.
So, what category would you like to start off with the next time the class comes round, Prototype or GT?

FLIP A COIN!!!
Seriously G You as administrator should make that decision but do it soon so that fellas like me can repair a car in time. If left up to a pole we could waste a lot of time which is precious these days!!

Re: Running the Vintage Sports races
Hi guys,
I think one of the original reasons for the sub-groupings is to not have an additional class at FRC and to be able to run two classes concurrently. If this proposal is implemented, it will mean that we will effectively have an additional class and will now race each of these sub-classes class not every six weeks but every three months. I quite like how the races are going now, with for example at the last event, three cars in the GT and two cars in the Prototype class.

Guys,
How about this as a compromise. At each standard event where Vintage Sports is scheduled, we run two VS GT races of 20 laps each (instead of 25 laps each), then run two VS Prototype races of 20 laps each. This will total 80 laps, just five more than a single class of three 25 lap races.

I'd be willing to give that a try Gordon. Effective from next week ?
Re: Running the Vintage Sports races
If we decide to go with the endurance racing format as discussed under another topic ( two races of approx. five minutes/class), I think we could make an exception for the VS class and leave this class as proposed here, ie two races per class, each one of twenty laps.
