Two interesting home tracks, one digital, the other analog

Post by gordon »

Guys, check out these two neat home tracks. This first one is a 4-lane analog track with overpass and therefore equal lane lengths. It has a tropical feel with coconut/palm trees scattered around the simple scenery on the layout.

Neat and effective.

The second one is a BLST (Best Lane Slot Track) layout with proper racing line options. The system has anti-collision software that will prevent lane changes that result in crashing into another car. Here's a quote from the explanation in the link at the end of my post:
  • "The lane changes are completely automatic, not manually triggered, all that is needed is to move closer to attempt a passing manoeuvre."

This will make for some realistic racing. You'll really have to drive around cars ahead to move up in position, just like the real thing. Notice that even the crash-barrier walls are overlapped in the correct direction. Notice too the Scalextric power base with start line straight. Up to 15 cars are supported! Very cool.

You can read about how it all works here:

Very interesting.
Both tracks look very good although the analogue one has the nicer scenery. I would like to see more videos of those BLST tracks featuring real racing action.

Yes indeed Gordon but somebody should have purchased a tin of black emulsion paint to cover those “childish looking” white lines on all those plastic tracks and (most importantly) don’t think it would affect the grip in any way.

I believe that is Carrera track. The lines are supposed to replicate public roadways/highways, as have been used many times for real racing over the years.
