I'd like to echo Luke's sentiment in welcoming Gordon back to forum activity. It's understandable however, if the posts are not as frequent as before.

GG et al,

I sort of remember hearing about that name (Ronnie Peterson) as well and also noticed how I overlooked with my previous post ... the amount of F1 drivers through the years from Sweden.

Its not 9 drivers as studied ~ its 10 ... and here's a list (I researched) of them from 1956 and onwards.
  • 1. Jo Bonnier ................. 1956-1971
    2. Reine Wisell ............... 1970-1974
    3. Ronnie Peterson ......... 1970-1978
    4. Bertil Roos ................. 1974
    5. Trosten Palm .............. 1975
    6. Conny Andersson ........ 1976-1977
    7. Gunnar Nilsson ........... 1976-1977
    8. Stefan Johansson ........ 1980, 1983-1991
    9. Slim Borgudd .............. 1981-1982
    10. Marcus Ericsson ......... 2014-2015*
Another bunch of gifted and versatile racing drivers - in years gone ..!

Although a great amount of time has gone by with this topic I can still thank you here Ram and letting you plus the other guys know that (and strange enough with this same topic) a Scalextric C3698A F1 McLaren M7C Jo Bonnier car ... Is in Trinidad on the 10th June 2016.

I will try and post a pic of this beautiful looking 1960 F1 car when collected - which I was asked to get for a friend.

Hey Gordon,

You caught me there for a second - thought you were back already.

 Sounds like you having a GR8 time way up north :)

Sorry to say I didn't get to see the race over the weekend but sure you have lots to talk about ... You seeing the racing action up close and personal.

If you don't mind - can't remember when you said you will be back?

Hey Gordon,

Its one of two things ...

Either you forget or you're very busy - about the pic of the yellow F1 McLaren car.

I will be collecting this same car tomorrow for viewing (and a F1 grid "photo shoot" of these type cars) on Saturday. Plus another one (forgot what chassis) from Arden's slotcar collection will be at FRC :)

Hello Gordon,

I had to bring this post up again (with this grand pic of F1 drivers) because I only came across some sad news (Jan. 27th.) today ...
Image

The recent death of Dan Gurney on January 14th. 2018 and for what it's worth it made me remember this FRC competition.

Daniel Sexton Gurney (April 13th. 1931 to January 14th. 2018) may God rest his soul.
