Good Morning O'Brie,

Thank you and it's what anyone should look forward too ~ the end result ~ being persistent and determined ;)

On a separate note and as we're in correspondence here - I would like to ask you a question about the Busch (or any other brand) Self Adhesive Copper Tape (Ref: BUS1799) at U.K. Pendle Slot Racing.

 Would you recommend using to improve the connectivity (joints only) for Scalextric "Classic" tracks and if so how should it be applied .. :?:

Thanking you in advance,

Luke

Do you think at the last race meeting this year, we could get confirmation of the proposed rule changes for F1 and Vintage Sport 60-75 (GT class) ? If we confirm what the changes for these classes are , we could then know if to include any necessary bits in our Santa letters.

Steve, I would very much like to get these confirmed, most certainly the F1 rules. I've spent a lot of time (and a fair amount of $) acquiring various components and putting together options for the proposed F1 class over the last two years. I actually got the first parts just before Christmas 2015, but shelved things for some time after, in view of my family situation with the loss of Kyle. Coming back to the present, I did a little more evolutionary work on my F1 prototype yesterday in preparation for this week's racing. I plan to do as I did at the last F1 event and race it for no points if there are no objections.

Regarding the splitting of VS6075 into separate GT and Prototype sub-categories, although I'd like to do it, I feel we should do a trial event in this way and see how it goes before making a final decision. Perhaps we can do it at the first scheduled VS6075 event for 2018.

No problem at all Gordon ... but thank you all the same.

Also concerning the (copper tape) question I asked O'Brie - you or anyone else can please feel free to comment.

The more suggestions/ideas ~ the better it is making a decision.

Thanks,

Luke

Luke, both O'Brie and I had looked at using copper tape to improve conductivity on our tracks by completely overlaying the steel rails with it. O'Brie even did it with a sample piece of track. Before doing it I was advised by an experienced slot car guy based in the US to look at using Inox as an alternative, which I did.

Regarding what you want use it for, I would think that using it on the rail projections that are inserted into the opposing track openings would do the job. O'Brie has a roll and I may have one somewhere as well, so don't go ordering any.

Gordon that copper tape idea sounding grand ... for Scalextric Classic track rails.

Also remembered that ideal Inox solution ... for your FRC Scalextric Sport track rails.

ATM can't order the Busch Self Adhesive Copper Tape because of two 2 reasons:

It's presently out of stock at U.K. PSR and even if it was available - these days one can't even get to buy (at RBL banks) a single U.S.D in T&T to order anything online.

Anyway - if and when you come across the roll you mentioned (and if you don't mind me saying) that doesn't seem to be in use ... Is it okay we make some sort of arrangement for ~ be it cash or even bartering in these dreadful economic times .. :?:
