Hi guys.
We all know that in a Digital system, the controller "speaks" to the chip in your car and controls the throttle, lane changer, etc. There are six controllers and as a conciquence, six cars can run at a time.
I my very limited layman understanding, that means that the controller has a specific code/signal that it sends/receives to make it unique to tha car.
My question is why is there a limit on the code/signal? Why not eight, ten, twelve cars??
Why cant I reprogram another six car console to have controller # 7 to 12?? Working in parallel with they existing six.
Why they limitation???
Can anyone explain how the Scalextric digital system works?

O'Brie, I think that's a question for someone like RicoRocket or RichG. My first thought is that maybe the software is based on a maximum of six cars, but maybe there's a hardware aspect as well.
