Racing this Thursday 4th August

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice from 7:00 PM this Thursday, followed by qualifying and racing. For reasons explained below, I'd like to start qualifying at around 8:00 PM, followed by a short break then the first race. Those not ready will start at the back of the grid in the order that they bring their cars to it.

This event I'm trying something new. We normally run three races for three classes, a total of nine races. When we have one subgroup split as we have on the last two occasions, we run twelve races. For this event we're running one race per class for all our classes. In practical terms we most likely won't run the Lambo Series (unless I can get the cars ready in time, which is unlikely) and may or may not have enough cars for the Indy Car and Modified Production classes. Even without these we'll still have nine races as usual, just a single race per class. Everyone gets a chance to qualify but we're only taking the fastest six, no subgroups. Qualifying normally is done in three 2-minute sessions. This time it will be at least nine 2-minute sessions, so we've got to get it started early.

Here's the tentative race programme (in running order):
  1. Porsche Cup (30 laps)
  2. Historic Saloon (30 laps)
  3. Vintage Sports (30 laps)
  4. Restricted GT (30 laps)
  5. Slot.It Challenge (30 laps)
  6. Lambo Series (30 laps)
  7. Modified Production (30 laps)
  8. F1 (30 laps)
  9. Indy Car (30 laps)
  10. American Muscle (40 laps)
  11. GT (40 laps)
  12. LMP (40 laps)
So, who will win the Porsche Cup race? Who will win the LMP race? We all have just one race per class to find out, so get all your entries ready for a unique FRC event. As usual, you can see the regulations here.

Ice Brigade: Kyle.

See you on the circuit...

Who get GG vex ? I have to get 11 cars ready......? Ya mad or what ? OK let me see, my escort ran into the back of another car because the marshall decided to reslot a car with a heavy hand just as I was accelerating down the back stretch. Now the front looks like false teeth. My indy car was too fast for the competition and it kept bumping into slower traffic.....no I did not drive through.....and the front chassis is broken. Restricted GT and Slot it challenge cyah compete and too busy to tune them. Have no FI car ready. So that is 5 out of the 11 classes I out of. Thank God.......or should I say thank GG for the porsche cup. I have an LMP and GT and restricted GT. My vintage is ok.....so I have 5 cars to race out of 11 possible races and what if I don't make the grid ? Thursday is a limeing night for Calito I guess.

LOL Alex  ! I understand your point but you don't have to drive in every class! Focus on a few (three like normal?) and come race those and lime/marshal for the others. We don't know how many classes will actually end up running till we see who brings what. Others will certainly be in the same boat (I definitely don't have an F1 car). Besides, I have a few cars to lend (although most of them are Vintage Sports).

At least there is enough time between Slot.It Challenge and LMP for me to switch PODs. :D
