Race report #204 - Thurs November 12th 2015 (MP, F1)
Re: Race report #204 - Thurs November 12th 2015 (MP, F1)
Great night of racing as usual at FRC. I was really pleased to see the number of newly appearing Mod. Prod. cars . This class continues to be one of my favourites.Fantastic to see Brent back in the action. Great to see O'Brie turn up to actually race. It was unfortunate that neither Brent nor O'Brie got to race their Mod. Prod. cars, Brent's a lovely Escort Mk.II and O'Brie's an also lovely Impreza. Nice also to see Luke turn up with cars to race, although he as well was not able to race his Mod.Prod. cars (Mini and Impreza). Gordon's new Capri was absolutely stunning and was easily the fastest car on the Mod. Prod. grid and the result s in the first race bear this out. Unfortunately, this car was also visited by the race-night gremlins. My own Peugeot 406, having made a brief appearance previously, was never really race by me before in its current guise and I must say performed quite well. The Bhola Imprezas and Gordon's recently re-engineered Mini performed extremely well as usual. In this class, the racing was as exciting as usual and congrats go to Luke B. on the victory.
In F1, there was some pre-race attrition as both of Gordon's cars had issues and were not able to race. Despite this, there was still a fully subscribed grid. Racing in this class was also tight and again , congrats to Luke B. on victory in the class.
New regulars Damian, Rocky and Edward were joined by Brent, O'Brie and Alex for a very entertaining Group N Ferrari F430 class. Congrats to Brent on victory in this class.
The new guys were given a taste of F1 racing in a one-off one race event and I think they all enjoyed racing these cars. Congrats to Edward on victory in this race.
Looking forward to the next event.
Steve

Nice to see such a big turn out for the night's racing. I haven't done any slotcar racing since my return, but have participated in some autocross (Solodex) events.

Hello Gary,
Good of you keeping in touch with us slotcar guys.
When GG told us you wont be back at FRC because of your new life ... I wondered if you will use this forum doing so (keeping in touch) and look how it was done today
That's a neat looking car ... its looks like a Honda and a Toyota all rolled up in one for your autocross events.
Sure you noticed how FRC (and TSCC) events are going guns but I don't know when Steve is going to get tired of congratulating Luke B.
The guy wins so much - he stays home for other to get a chance.
Luke T.

Great car there Gary. Like the truck too... what is it? Good to hear from you (aside from on Facebook) and glad you're getting back into Autocross at home. Best of luck with it. Keep in touch!

Yes Steve, that's correct but like you "conveniently" forgetting and thanks to you in the F1 class ~ I almost didn't get to race my BLT car because of how you slammed into the back of my Ferrari before the first race (and being 3rd. place) on the grid.steveaca wrote: Nice also to see Luke turn up with cars to race, although he as well was not able to race his Mod.Prod. cars (Mini and Impreza).
I must remember - next time I'm doing any sort of testing (lap times) with cars and I see you watching the power base more than me, I will stop the car just before the line (if only car on track of course) and sure you will understand what it means
BTW - I spent a lot of time on my F1 cars ... Okay !!!
