New F1 car option
New F1 car option
Hi Guys,
Based on our experiences with and discussions about our current F1 cars, here are some links for what I feel we can look at as an alternative "formula" for the class, starting from next year.
Chassis:
Sloting Plus, Aluminium F1 chassis
Body:
Carrozzeria GP Formula - AllSlotCar
We can get the aluminium chassis and pre-painted bodies (as well as plain white) here at Pendle:
Sloting Plus GP Formula Aluminium Chassis (SP400002)
All Slot Car | Pendle Slot Racing
We wouldn't want to go with a plastic chassis again because of their fragility and we will need to look at how magnets can be incorporated. We can also decide on other fittings such as motor, guide flag, wheel, axle, gear and bearing options. We can standardise on all or give basic guidelines for each component and leave it up to each owner to choose.
Let's hear your thoughts.

Interesting. The cars look like they would be fun to drive although I'd want to read up some more on them. If we were to go with these though, we might want to change the name of the class from F1 to something else (Formula FRC ??) as the cars would not be replicas of actual F1 cars anymore.

GG,
I remember this topic and I have even asked you about the Ninco brand of F1 cars ...
Anyway - this is what you posted (October 2012) under News when FRC didn't even race these other IROC classes ...
Some mixed feelings (back then) about this brand of ALLSLOTCAR F1 body/chassis cars. Sure it will be positively received now (because of the circumstance with the present F1 Scalextric cars) if one or two of these type cars are doing some testing on your SSD track or TSCC for that matter.
At the same time - no need it being a FRC IROC class & here is a suggestion being pro-active with this new F1 class of cars.
BTW - Above is great looking line up of F1 cars

- Award a prize (be it whatever) for the first person with one of these cars and even all set up for some sort of testing and maybe racing too.

I forgot to mention ~ the color schemes (liveries) on these 132 models, make them fantastic looking replicas of F1 cars.
