Although I responded with 90s/100s years of F1 drivers and with no answers to 50s/60s years of F1 drivers...

Very good effort there Luke. Just glancing at it I'm sure you beat Steve, which puts you in the lead. Only one answer response allowed for everyone though, so this will be your entry and it could be the winner!

The answer to my hint:

Of the eight drivers, only two are still alive (John Surtees, Dan Gurney). Two died of natural causes (Phil Hill, Richie Ginther), one in a light aeroplane crash (he was piloting) (Graham Hill) and three in racing car accidents (Jo Bonnier, Jim Clark, Bruce McLaren).

Oh, and I had one answer wrong. There are actually four driver/constructors who drove their own cars in F1 (not two). I omitted John Surtees as I had forgotten that he actually drove his F1 cars for the first couple of years that they raced and Graham Hill who drove his F1 cars very briefly before retiring from racing.

Thanks for recognizing my efforts and awarding a new Slot.It chip for the person with most correct answers.

I must say though - when I first saw this pic of F1/60s drivers ...

I remembered you showing me this same pic some time ago and telling me whose who in it. I thought to myself then - how good of you remembering all of what you said about it and like you still do today. Its very good of you and tells anyone the high levels of passion you have through the years for car racing.

At first I wasn't to keen with the quiz because I only remembered the pic and didn't remember all of whose who in it ... but when Steve said it looks like he's the winner. That is what did it for me taking part in this quiz. Maybe he did what he did trying to encourage others but nonetheless it was very entertaining trying to remember who are these great racing car guys

Although - I did recognize Clark and the 2 Hills ... at first glance

Looking back at my answers and hard luck others didn't take part ... because they missed out like how I missed out on an easy point with J. Clark - C. Two two-time F1 World Champion.

Hello All,

A brand new year (2016) is ahead of us ... and I couldn't help myself checking out the Scalextric website for their new range of 2K16 cars.

I was pleasantly surprised for what I saw and remembered this competition when I came across this (1970's) 132 F1 car.

Its was driven by (this competition number 4 driver) Jo Bonnier and also remembering how I was sorry no idea ... who this guy is.

Must say - its a cool looking F1 slotcar.

Hey GG,

Not doubting in the least bit because just looking at that photo above, those guys all seem to be gifted and versatile looking racing drivers ..!

An interesting point though: After asking myself - How many Swedish drivers there are in Formula One ..?

Noticing that Joakim Bonnier is from Sweden and too, was the first and only Swedish F1 driver in 1956 to 1971 ... a timeline of the longest served (15 years) compared to the other 8 Swedish F1 racing drivers through the years and Stefan Johansson being the 8th. was the closest (1980 - 1983 to 1991) with 10 years.

Strangely enough, I remember hearing about this F1 driver - Johansson - back in those days

Also noticed as much as 22 years later - its now Marcus Ericsson (2014 to 2015) making him the 9th. Swedish F1 racing driver after all these (59) years.

Thank you Luke. It's good to be back, although it may be a while before I'm posting as regularly as before.

Regarding Swedish F1 drivers, by far the quickest and most successful was the late Ronnie Peterson, alias "SuperSwede". Ronnie was considered by many (including me) to be the quickest driver of his era and was positioned to be a world champion, having signed for McLaren not long before he his tragic death following an accident at the Italian GP.
