LMP-E/GT-E One Hour Endurance

Post by gordon »

Guys,

This event is scheduled for either Thursday July 9th or Saturday July 11th, to be decided by your votes above.

Here are the final class regulations:
  • Body: LMP and GT models based on real cars that raced from 1982 onwards (for LMP, Group C onwards). Windows may be tinted so as not to reveal the cockpit.
  • Chassis: Free.
  • Minimum Ground Clearance: 1.0 mm / 0.040 in.
  • Interior: Free but must comply with General item 3.
  • Digital Chip: Free.
  • Motor - GT-E: Up to 21,500 RPM.
  • Motor - LMP-E: Up to 25,000 RPM.
  • Gearing: Free.
  • Motor Pod (where applicable): Free.
  • Magnets - GT-E: Maximum Magnet Marshal downforce of 200 gms.
  • Magnets - LMP-E: Maximum Magnet Marshal downforce of 275 gms.
  • Wheels: Free.
  • Axles: Free.
  • Tyres: Free.
  • Guide Flag: Free.
  • Car Minimum Weight: 90 gm.
Besides the actual one hour duration of the race, everyone will need time to fine-tune their cars to ensure that they meet the minimum weight and maximum downforce requirements. Based on this I feel that this event should be the only competition for the evening, putting off the Mixed IROC class for a subsequent event.

Please indicate by comment below the names of drivers who are confirmed to participate and also what car(s) you will be entering, if any. Remember, we need extra drivers for this one.

I voted for Thursday but I could also race on Saturday. I wonder though, seeing that we now race only every other Thursday, if we couldn't race our next scheduled regular classes on the following Thursday as well so as to keep the scheduled calendar more or less on track.
By the way, I'll probably prepare a GT-E class car for the event.

Since its this kind of exclusive event plus an approximate time span of 3 to 4 hours - my vote for:

Which day would you prefer to run this event?

Is Thursday 9th. July 2015.

Also, I will only be participating as a driver and not a constructor/driver.

What about that nice new Corvette Luke? Why not prepare it for GT-E?

If you wish, be my guest GG and for any one of the 3 GT-E teams to drive, is fine with me.

Hi GG!

Any chance of recording the race for those of us there only in spirit? (Or even better, a live video feed!)
Best,

Hi guys i will be entering two lmp and two gt cars, therefore an evening of testing will be welcomed, since cars like these where down force regs are being applied takes a lot of set up time.
