Gordon,

Glad to see you got your AM running.

I really believe Historic and Vintage rules should remain. We will get faster and we will going back to where we came from. "Scalextric GT40 21.5K, standard magnet" remember those days.

Those cars should be raced standard and they got slower with the 2015 rules. Additional magnets will make it faster.
Why add more magnet and UDR?

I would suggest
Motor Standard Motor
Magnet Standard Magnet and Position
Axle Standard
Ground Clearance 1mm

I haven't even gotten my Vintage and Historic running well and I will only have 2 more meetings and then we may have a rule change.
I suggest the rules stand a minimum two years unless absolute necessary. We tried to simplify the rules to get more participants and it not bear fruit. We still have racers who still are not up to speed in some classes and some still looking for their cars in the flood. "JOKE Luke"

My thoughts.

I do agree with Gordon that changes should bring cars closer and also become more easier to build and encourage others to do like wise , my concern is with the latter, i have realized our 2015 regs will only allow cars to run four times for the year , and some of our regular guys have not got cars set up for 2015 as yet ,or they are still in the process of tuning , although i did mention we needed some consideration for wear on gears i realize it might not be necessary, therefore i feel the existing rules should carry for 2016 .

Hi Arden and Ramesh,

Sorry I couldn't make it on Wednesday evening. Glad Steve and Jonathan did and congrats to you Steve on your 3rd place in F1.

I love getting this kind of feedback on the forum. Everybody's input helps steer our FRC ship and I find that this makes for a more completely thought-out course of action. For example, I never considered the fact that we now only get half the events for each class and making changes each year gives us precious little opportunity to get our cars right. When you look at real F1 with all the changes at the start of last year, it took quite a while for the teams to sort out their cars and some are still having problems. With McLaren switching to Honda engines this year, we see how they are struggling to catch up with the other top teams. And that's F1 with all the technology, money and brains behind it. Although our cars are infinitely simpler, they still need a lot of work and sorting because of the competitiveness we now have amongst one another, so I agree that it would be a good thing to stabilize our regs for the two-year period suggested.

This will give everyone more time to hopefully get all the cars in each class running very similar lap times, which will make for close racing and give everyone a shot at the top of the winner's rostrum.

Steve, I currently have mixed feelings about running HS as a non-magnet class. The experience of our Rally class has shown that standard "magnet" cars appear to have difficulty being competitive with more specialised "non-magnet" rally cars. Some cars are designed to run with magnets and can be real hogs without them. I know that they can be improved, but I believe we may end up looking into different cars that work better without magnets as the class evolves.

Hi Gordon , i do appreciate the way you think and also feel although the general regs can stay the same , some supplemental changes can also be agreed on by the competitors during the course of the race year, which will not affect the performance of the cars, for eg allowing dtm cars in modify pro this will affect no one and can be implemented , and there may be other similar suggestions ,. thanks Ramesh
