Hi all,

As the chief steward (plus great support from Marlon & Jon) for this event - I enjoyed & observed a great bunch of guys (Gordon, Ramesh, Steve & Luke B.) competing in the 3 open classes of slot car racing ...

Sorry I didn't get to partake because I still cant seem to locate my tuned AM/5.0 seconds, GT/4.7 seconds (best lap time) cars and I still don't have a tuned LMP car as yet :/

I'm seeing everything else around home - concerning my slotcar items but for some reason not those 2 cars :(

Maybe its for a good reason because don't think my cars would have made that average super cutting edge of 4.5 sec. racing speeds .. :!:

All the same, check out these details for the upcoming IROC event.

The last time the SGTC IROC class was raced (Race Report #180/Nov. 2014) and now, at this up-coming event - it would make it 14 events or 7 months ago :)

Racing looks very consistent from 2014 to 2015 @ 2 events per month ...

Plus, out of the 6 sets (order they came up) of IROC cars, its the only class presently raced with stock rubber tyres.

  • 1. PC cars ........ @ 21.5K rpm ...... 6.8 sec. lap time ............ Rubber to Silicone
    2. LS cars ........ @ 25K rpm ......... 6.2 sec. lap time ........................... Silicone
    3. FTC cars ...... @ 20K rpm ......... 6.4 sec. lap time ............ Rubber to Silicone
    4. MC cars ....... @ 18K rpm ......... 7.4 sec. lap time ............ Rubber to Silicone
    5. NSS cars ...... @ 26K rpm ........ 6.2 sec. lap time ............ Rubber to Silicone
    6. SGTC cars .... @ 18K rpm ........ 6.6 sec. lap time ............ Rubber ..............

When compared to the other set of classes with 6 cars each - if the 6 SGTC cars with rubber tyres were to changes to silicones - this is what will be required:
  • • 2 pairs of Maxxtrac - M02X Silicone tyres for the Lamborghini Gallardos
    • 2 pairs of Maxxtrac - M21X Silicone tyres for the Ferrari F430s
    • 2 pairs of Maxxtrac - M45X Silicone tyres for the Porsche 997s

Also, at the last event there were 9 drivers present and unfortunately was raced as a group A & B competition. All because it was known to be run that way and wouldn't be so this time. The new system will put everyone into a single competing group, if there's more than 6 drivers present.

I think what makes this event very different from the rest and sure all will agree ~ the fact that all drivers present have to race cars in a precise order ... 2/F430s, 2/997s and 2/Lambos ... (of course depending where you are on the grid) all at same rpm but 2 cars each with 3 different centre of gravity levels.

Looking forward to next event ;)

Luke

Enjoyable night of racing as usual at FRC despite having only four drivers. Congrats to Gordon, Ramesh and Luke B. on winning American Muscle, GT and LMP respectively. Congrats also to Luke B. on taking the overall win. Thanks to Luke, Jon and Marlon for marshalling services. Much appreciated.
Looking forward to the next event.

Hello All,

Sorry for missing the event, but I was very tired and exhausted after a long hard week.
Glad to see Gordon getting his AM car workin well and winning the class. Congrats to the winners.
