Spent Saturday afternoon prepping two Slot.It Challenge cars, my Toyota 88C and I also resurrected Peter's Audi R8C and did some work on it.
Still in slot car mode on Sunday morning, I spend largely the whole day back with my cars and focused on a complete rebuild of my Mod Prod Mini. Its now ready for some testing with a temporary motor installed.
Here's a pic of the Mini as I left it last night, not quite complete but ready to test (88C in background):
I've been getting too much of a beating at FRC these days, so I have to fight back!
Weekend's car work
Re: Weekend's car work
Productive weekend there Gordon. I know you'll have those Slot.it Challenge cars up to speed . What I'm intrigued by however, is the rebuild of the Mod.Prod. Mini. It seemed to have worked very well in testing last week . If you're looking to now test with a temporary motor (which I assume will offer better performance than seen at last week's event), it should be a killer with the proper motor !!
Re: Weekend's car work
Productive indeed Steve but (to me) in the background and very thought-provoking ~ is that super low looking unbroken parallel line between the Toyota and Tech block ...
Re: Weekend's car work
Hi Gordon , i am sure your preparation will be well worth it , you are quite a good builder and do have a lot of knowledge and experience behind you , so i know you will be able to do much better, always remember , failure is when you stop trying to get better.enjoy every build , speed tip try polishing your cars . bye Ram
Re: Weekend's car work
Ram, not planning to stop trying to improve in the foreseeable future, so I guess I haven't failed as yet! Thanks for the speed tip. I'll have to apply that to my 1/1 Subaru
Re: Weekend's car work
Steve, I'm sure you'll like the Mini when you see what I've done
Luke, you definitely notice the finest details.

Re: Weekend's car work
Gordon,
Its probably a reason today ~ why I don't need or use reading glasses hehe
Also, another way to explain the meaning of PASSION in your words - not planning to stop trying to improve in the foreseeable future ...
I wonder what Ramesh will do when you (GG) catch-up with him with your decisive slotcar activity ..?

Re: Weekend's car work
Luke he'll do the same... keep trying, because he's that kind of competitive person and he loves slot racing.
Re: Weekend's car work
I totally agree GG but you being that same kind of competitive person @ FRC and how you've been working oh-so steadfast in recent times, improving your (already excellent) slotcar tuning skills ...
Think - a great way to fire up your shot going down south to TSCC during the week ...
Ramesh (for his magical "pixie-dust" slotcar powers) could/may give you a grand tour (remember) of his personal slotcar tuning space.
After all, you have invited him into your personal slotcar tuning space up north every other week
