In about 6 months time ...

Post by Luke »

GG and other fellow racers,

Don't know if anybody thought about this but letting you'll know I did with the recent 186 event ... ;)

Well, atm it will take a total of 14 racing groups (or the start of a 3rd. cycle) to make FRC's "milestone/landmark" 200th. Event and will very well happen in 2K15 because ...

At 2 events per month & (checking a calendar) at this rate, it could/may happen exactly Thursday 24th. September and that's "Republic Day" a public holiday.

FRC racing has been carrying-on for 6 years this year April 2015 and look how the events went by in (approx.) 75 months ...

  • • 1 - 50 Events ...................... Wednesday, April 8, 2009 - Thursday 27th May, 2010 ........................................ 13 months.
    • 51 - 100 Events ................. Wednesday 2nd June, 2010 - Thursday 19th May, 2012 .................................. 23 months.
    • 101 - 150 Events ................. Thursday 31st May, 2012 - Thursday 5th December, 2013 .................................. 19 months.
    • 151 - 186 Events ................. Thursday 12th December, 2013 - Thursday 19th February 2015 .......................... 14 months.
    • 187 - 200 Events ............... Thursday 5th. March, 2015 - Wednesday 23rd. September, 2015 .................... 06 months.
When this special occasion comes off (God Willing), we could/may have it on a Wednesday night or any other night/day for that matter :D

Here's to putting the forum to use,

Hi Ramesh and Arden,

Regarding an invitation to the TSCC circuit ... and to all slot car racers from the North ...

I would like to express my deepest appreciation plus warmest gratitude to Arden and Ramesh for their collaborated efforts of hospitality and at such very short notice too because ...

I am letting all know here, that I was present @ (Thursday night Analogue Racing) TSCC in the South ...

Here's somewhat of a short story but just looking long hehe

Yesterday (Thursday) around mid-day, I decided to pay TSCC a "real" surprise visit ... I say "real" because I really did so this time. The only problem though, I knew I didn't make ready (set-up) any F1 or LMP analogue cars for this event and told myself I will be more than happy just being a marshal. Little did I know - it was going to be the total opposite :)

I left work (Wrightson Road) at 4:00 pm exact, heading straight down to the Marabella (South Ring) SC Racing venue. Well, that and all changed-up when my inner spirit said, to give Arden and Ramesh a call ... After making a few phone calls while in some traffic heading south - the only thing I believe these guys didn't do, was to roll-out the Red Carpet for my arrival.

A point by point rundown of how it all went having a choice of stopping off at Ramesh's home in Gasparillo or Arden's home in Point-a-Pierre before going to Marabella for 6:30 - 7:00 pm.

  • • I was guided to stop off at Arden's home which was done around 5:15 pm (so long one may wonder leaving POS) because I missed the Point-a-Pierre turn off ramp going south and had to come back around heading north :/
    • Now ever since I know myself - Once I leave home in the north-west to go east, central or south to anyone's home, seems its an understanding you must eat ah food.
    • Well, that I did (have a meal) and complements to Arden's Mum & Aunt preparing this meal for the both of us.
    • The great treatment didn't stop there because around 6:30 pm Arden suggested I leave my car parked at his home and go down the road in his car.
    • Reaching the TSCC venue - I saw a buzz of persons including Ramesh and his daughter (mind you his son wasn't present), Jon, Marlon and 4 others.
    • By 9:30 it had a total of 12 persons present including myself for a TSCC race night.
    • Again I was well greeted and coming from the north without 132 cars, Ramesh loaned me 2 of his cars - a LMP and a F1 car to take part in both classes.
    • I remembered it was LMP first then F1 with 8 and 6 drivers respectively.
    • The LMP race was done like an FRC IROC event with 8 drivers/6 races each. Qualifying times wasn't done (due to being late) and as a guest, I was given the pleasure of starting in lane 1 :D
    • The 6 LMP races - I think I did: one 3rd. one 5th. and four 6th. place positions. F1 was more or less the same, although I did come 1st. once but still tied with Jon in that race.
    • All racing was finished by 10:45 pm and the building was closed up by 11:15 pm.
    • All in all, had a wonderful time and next time I go TSCC - I will make sure and have my sc cars ready for whichever event being done.
    • I got a drop back to my real car ~ made a cool driver back up the road and was home by 12:00 pm.
Hope all enjoyed the read and made you all feel like going TSCC soon ...

That's a real nice description of your TSCC experience on Thursday Luke. I'm glad that you went to represent the "north" boys as we are very delinquent in attending TSCC events (me especially). Thanks Ram and Arden for inviting us all the same. One day I'll make it to race with you guys on the analog 6-lane south track, hopefully with my own analog cars!

That's a real comprehensive recap of the race night in south Luke. Dem south boys sure treated you well ! I'm sure the racing was as competitive and enjoyable as at FRC . Maybe in time, one of us north boys could go down to TSCC and share some licks, just as the south boys do when they come to FRC !

Ramesh or Arden - Seeing this info ...

I have 2 Questions:
  • 1. TSCC next TBA event ... and what are the 2 scheduled classes ..?
    2. Like FRC and no yearly points ... and each event starts with a clean slate - Is TSCC going with this method too ..?

Hello (South Boys) Ramesh/Arden - tell me if I am correct with this reasoning ...

That Muscle Car (means AM as well) and F1/Indy are now both Open Modify ... FREE rpm - in other words.

Although the above line does look/read correct - why not arrange/shape TSCC http://www.slotcarclub.com classes something like this:

  • • F1/SC ..................................................... 18K/21K rpm

    • LMP/AM .................................................. 20K/25K rpm

    • SW/GTU ................................................. 18K/FREE rpm

Muscle (AM) Car/F1 or Indy ....................... FREE rpm

    • OUTLAW ................................................. FREE rpm

I believe in this way (grouping/combination of classes) it will be easier on both parties (host & guest) to determine at a moment's notice - what's the next TSCC event.

Hi Luke t , thanks for your interest i do appreciate your help , our next event is next thur 12th and the two classes will be any american muscle car from any era and from 2000 and up any F1 and any INDY CAR, we didnt want scalletti arrow , brm , uop shadow in that class, we will later have open mod in which lexan bodies and lightened cars can run with no limitations . Have a productive day byeRam
