American Muscle regulation reminder

Post by gordon »

Guys,

This is just a reminder to all that for cars to be eligible for American Muscle, they must comply with the body requirements for the class, as follows:

Body: Must be modeled after traditional “American Muscle”/late '60s and early '70s "Trans-Am" cars, including the Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Charger, Mercury Cougar, AMC Javelin and Pontiac Firebird. For the purpose of this class, the Chevrolet Corvette is not considered an American muscle car. Body must comply with General item 2. Windows may be tinted so as not to reveal the cockpit.

Please pay particular attention to the red text above.

For those of you who have modern Camaros, Mustangs, etc., you can consider running them in a class like Modified Production as they are not eligible for our American Muscle class as it now stands..

Hey GG,

Sure you're having an enjoyable Y2K15 Carnival :D

All the same, I couldn't have asked this question (with this topic) at a better time.

Knowing that we ran off this class grouping recently plus taking into consideration all you wrote about (above) and concerning my results in the past Mod Prod class events.

I was thinking about maybe purchasing (all because its my birthday :) next month) a "modern day" Scalextric Chevrolet Camaro for the MP class and again in the light of what was written.

I came across this same situation - FRC Class Regs: ~ Examples of non-eligible GT cars are ... and most cars with "GT" in their names ~ with these car types (item nos. C3391 & C3517) which has "GT" in their title/names.

Example - http://www.scalextric.com/chevrolet-cam ... c3517.html

 So, will it be okay for you to throw some light on these findings and me (maybe) acquiring a (132 modern day) Camaro for Modified Production class .. :?:
