Aw-shucks GG ~ Is all these pages you know, why I just realized you have specs posted already

Sorry - guess it wont matter what you think (about mines) but I believe I will just have to measure the downforce now.

Thanking you,

Gordon,

Since it (LMP-E & GT-E) is a hour of racing - a Thursday night sound good or even a Tuesday (23rd. Sept) night because its a day before the Rebublic Day holiday... In this way, it could help for those guys - who out the country for 6-8 weeks.

On a next note - Thinking about my 2 Ninco cars and 2 drivers per car, in qualifying the fastest 3 LMPs & 3 GTs for the grid ...

Here is a fast question  The 2 drivers per car, could 1 drive the LMP and the other drive a GT with both cars coming into the pits to make the requried driver changes :?:

Example: The LMP-E A and GT-E A drivers change hand-controllers coming in and back out the pits 8-)

I like the proposed reg. adjustments which now mean that the current Restricted GT cars can run with existing motors. I would prefer if this event was run as a special event (ie. on a holiday or weekend) and not in place of one of our regular events.
Luke, I think that if we're trying for our races to have some resemblance to the real thing, your driver change idea would not be workable. In a real endurance race, one would not hear of, for example Lola #9-drivers Tom and Jerry, Ferrari # 20-drivers also Tom and Jerry. I think that a team should only race 1 car in a race.

Quick reply - definitely two different drivers for each car for a race (what Steve said).

One important thing to be considered is that we MUST differentiate the performance in the two classes. We should not see a GT car running same lap times as an LMP car. This is why I initially proposed a 20K motor for GT. LMP cars should be faster in the corners and faster on the straights (but not too much faster).

Agreed about the speed (and handling) differential between the two classes.

Okay Gordon & hello Steve,

But out of the blue so Steve - resemblance of the real thing ... Yes, striking a slotcar racing balance is nice (in anything else too) but remember we're not "pros" here and you must admit, that kind of D/C did sound like "Tom & Jerry" having fun, which is what we are trying to do anyway. If the event has to be raced so realistically ~ so be it but its a good thing leaving room for (disappointment) not getting a strong turn out of racers.

I'm thinking that your racing car of choice (not difficult) is going to be the GT-E class but wondering who is going to be your team mate, are you getting the gist of what I am writing about ..? Here's why ~ you agreed full points, that GG has the perfect "striking" balance for these 6 cars going on the grid (3 LMPs, 3 GTs, 2 rpm ratings with 2 down force measurements) but with 1 car 2 drivers by 6 teams, you cant say for sure ... there's going to be at least 8 persons much less 12 persons to race?

I thinking about (for me) setting-up 6 cars plus other persons cars, means it wont worth it (although I could still) because it will have lots more work than workers "drivers" for all these cars ent. I know for sure now, I not going to bother asking nobody (other than Alex) again, if they going to participate because more and more (being old-school) I am realizing technology is way to advance for that kind of effort.

Telling it like it is and mind you, I still looking forward to this new event - how ever which way its raced :)

Luke, we can't have this type of event until we can be guaranteed to have a large enough turnout. In the mean time we need to redouble our efforts to recruit new FRC drivers and bring back some of the old ones. Perhaps we can try personally phoning the FRC guys who have dropped out and ask what will interest them enough to come back and race.
