FRC 2-Hours Special Event date planning

Post by gordon »

Guys,

I want to move forward with our FRC 2-Hours Special Event and need to start narrowing down a date. Besides the 2-hour endurance race, we will be having a supporting series of races for our new IROC Scalextric GT Challenge class before the main event. Because of what is involved in setting-up this type of event, I feel it best to hold it on a Saturday afternoon/evening (but not on a long weekend). That said, with Easter weekend coming up in less than two weeks, we have to look at a date after this.

Please give some feedback on which Saturday after Easter and before the end of June would be best suited to you in the comments below. You can be very specific or you can say something like "any Saturday", "any Saturday but..." or "none, but here's my suggestion". Remember to exclude long weekends since many people make other plans for those. Here's a good T&T 2014 public holiday reference in calendar format to help you:

Remember, we need 12-18 drivers to participate, so this is why the date needs to be set with some advance notice.

Oh, I forgot... I won't be available on Saturday 17th May, so please ignore that date.

Hi Gordon,
at this point my Saturdays are pretty much open, except for the one directly after Easter weekend. I agree with your point about not having this event on a long weekend as many people make plans way in advance to go out of town for these.

So far its looking like it could be Saturday 7th June, so let's know if this date is OK for those who haven't responded as yet.

The 1st Saturday in June really sounds like its a good one because it give us enough time (9 Saturdays) to get ready overall 8-)
