Hi all,
I'd like to suggest that if we're not having the special event on the long weekend, that we have regular racing on Thursday 27th so we don't miss too many racing nights.

GG,

On the grounds of your suggestion (& Steve's) with Saturday 29th March - and with a full page 2014 calendar...

We could have 2 full sequence of events.... The end and start of another, plus long weekends in March and April.

I think we could be looking at a Saturday in (late) May or (early) June '14  :)

What you'll think :?:

Hello Gordon,

At last racing event ~ MP, AM & the new Scalextric Challenge classes ~ when listening to you tell the guys a list of personal things you will be doing in the next coming months... it sounds like its going to be a very busy and thrilling year for you :)

Am I right in wondering/guessing here, that you wont have the time to host this (2 Hours) event again.. :?:

Luke,

I'm willing to host the FRC 2 Hours event on any Saturday that's available in my "busy schedule". I'll even not open the store on that Saturday if necessary. In fact, I'd like to actively move towards having it. Trouble is, we need 12-18 drivers to commit to it. So let's agree on a date after which I can set up an online entry form so that we can move forward.

On the topic of the FRC 2-hours, we can run a supporting IROC Scalextric GT Challenge class with the full six races before the main event.

GG,

I believe 12-18 drivers is possible with North and South slotcar racers. Plus thanks in advance for accommodating (with the guys) racing on your Saturday business day.

How about which "Saturday of Choice" Racing Day Poll with these 2 classes - FRC "2 Hrs" Endurance & Scalextric GT Challenge racing event :?:

Gordon,

I am starting to get ready for this event and too help hasten the other guys to go choose a Saturday they would like to race.

Under the Vintage Sports (regs) with the 8 brands (Revell-Monogram, MRRC, Fly, Ninco, NSR, Racer, Slot.It & Scalextric) there are for now ~ 38 types of cars listed. I will be setting up 3 cars from this list - One Revell-Monogram and Two Scalextric cars...

Plus, I have already enlisted 2 drivers to make up a 3 man racing team - when I enter one of these cars for a grand 12 hundred lap race @ FRC :D

That's great news Luke. We now need everyone else to take a leaf from your book and start getting ready! The date is looking like June 7th so far.

Fellas,

I'm using the forum to the fullest advantage for this (upcoming) endurance racing event.

Here's part of the happenings for this special event, trying to keep it interesting and eventful for all...

I told Gordon about this idea and he gave it the green light :)

Well - it has to do with a prize giving contest for the person/s doing the BEST LAP TIME after the 6 races (not qualifying) in the Scalextric "IROC" GT Challenge class... The winners from Group A & Group B will be awarded... these prizes.

In understanding how GG have lots to see about plus him getting ready to host this special event - I'm glad to have sponsored (great timing too) these 6 cars & prizes for all to partake in this racing competition...

So, here's the deal letting all know on the forum:

The prize is a Scalextric C8515 "Easy Fit" DPR Chip for the BLT Winners in the A & B groups. Remember - its not in qualifying but the race itself.

If wondering about the actual race - The SGTC Event, runs (atleast for now) as a normal IROC race with the overall poll & race winners for "bragging rights" Race Report results...

Its like a competition in a competition... What are you'll thoughts..?

Your FRC Racing Contender,

Gordon,

Lots of views, no thoughts... and most of all, no others agreeing on the day... Suppose its still kind of early ent..?

Maybe, if the prizes offered was a Roll On-Roll Off Car & a apartment in Maloney Gardens - thoughts & agreed day could have reached on page 10 by now

Anyway, its no big deal and sorry to say the prizes remain the same but with a little twist... Its the same 2 SSD DPR chips but one is a Saloon/$135 type and the other a F1/$170 type. The winner of Group A will have first choice of which type/value chip he likes and Group B will have to settle for the next one - see why its with a little twist and hope all like :D

You will notice (page one) the amount of FRC's events totals 6 and how appropriate, it will be to have the 7th. Special Event on the 7th. day of a month 8-)

Also, other than you, Steve, Ramesh and (a 3 man racing team in) Alex, Dougie & myself agreeing with Sat.7th. June... Have a feeling the next 3 man racing team you're going to see, will be Ramesh, Luke B. and Arden ;)
