All,

Please note I was just having a conversation with Luke.
My thoughts were not for the forum.

OK guys, here's my compromise suggestion (Luke remember, when compromising, we all have to give up some ground):

A. Mini Challenge IROC / Rally Car
B. Historic Saloon / Vintage Sports / Group 5 Sports Car
C. Mixed GT IROC / F1
D. Restricted GT / Slot.It Challenge
E. Nissan GT-R Super Series IROC / Modified Production
F. American Muscle / GT / LMP

This way we alternate IROC classes with standard classes, have a 6-week cycle and have just two events where we race three classes over the six events.

I've had a rethink on this and I really believe we need to at least try the two-class per event schedule. Two classes does not necessarily mean that we will only have two groups of races when you factor in new drivers coming in to FRC. We will have times when the classes are split into A and B subgroups, or we may have special races for the new drivers. Also, my previous points about the load on my shoulders regarding preparing for and running an event still applies. I would rather not have to be rushing through the races so that I can get a little "liming"/relaxation time between races. That said here are my class grouping suggestions for 2014:

A. Mini Challenge IROC / Rally Car
B. Historic Saloon / Vintage Sports
C. Nissan GT-R Super Series IROC / Restricted GT
D. Group 5 Sports Car / F1
E. Modified Production / American Muscle
F. Mixed GT IROC / Slot.It Challenge
G. GT / LMP

The intent of having two classes per night its really spelt out well by Gordon, but for the sake of new guys we should have an Iroc class at every event,is that possible. If we have to do all three open mod classes on one night ok, but lets look at its timing because we dont get to bed before 2 am,Which north guy will drive to south every thursday night to race? give us some consideration for the distance ,and Gordon for home and track prepping, before and after time, but with the, gr5, hs ,,vs ,this also runs too long, i suggest we remove the nissan class which has never run before, and add it to the mixed gt cars which it is , then again however, the combination goes more than two races definately goes too late , i appreciate the efforts made for a workable combination bye Ramesh

Hi all,
although I preferred Gordon's previous 6-week cycle projection (with 2 groupings having 3 classes each), I'm quite willing to go along with the latest 7-week cycle one. Glad to see that Group B retains running of 2 stock classes of similar vintage. The other class groupings also look compatible. We need to get this finalized as soon as possible as hopefully the 2014 racing season will be underway soon (any racing next week ?) .

Hello Ramesh - That word Gordon used "compromise" is what its all about here... and quite sure all will agree.

For example - Look how we all worked along so cool getting the new Mixed GT Racing off the ground and had a grand time racing too.

Also, you notice how nice Gordon fixed the AM/F1 issue - he put AM & Mod Prod together... Sure all will say thats a good compromise.

I like your idea with the IROC classes - one for every event (maybe) but that also means no Mixed GT Racing...

How about with GG last suggestion & have an IROC every other event...

Here you will only have one personal car to fix/bring every other group and we can all go home early after :D

A. HS / VS
B. MC IROC / RC
C. G5SC / F1
D. Mixed GT IROC / RGT
E. MP / AM
F. NSS IROC / SC
G. GT / LMP

Your idea for an IROC every event could be a little diffcult because it means 2 groups will have 3 classes & 5 will have 2 classes.

BTW - I posted this same idea "an IROC for (almost) every event" @ the end of page 3 8-)

Luke

ps - I posted the above before reading Steve's post...

Nice suggestions Luke. Of course when we cycle back from group G to group A, there's no IROC class in between, just like my group D to E. I don't know how we can get an IROC class between each group when there are three IROC and four non-IROC groups... I realised this when I was making my suggestions.

Very well explained Gordon but how I was looking at the situation was from group A to G only and start back all over/fresh again... In other words - there is no need for a 4th. IROC group, although we could/will have 5 separate IROCS soon...

Anyway, see you on Thursday to help us all sort out all of the above :)

Just to comment here on the original class groupings (9/1/2014) already set without stepping on toes...

Although I wasnt present at the meeting held for this topic, I would have liked to suggest (after looking it over again) this grouping of mine's.

A. HS / VS
B. MC IROC / RC
C. G5SC / F1
D. Mixed GT IROC / RGT
E. ----Tuning Event ----
F. MP / AM
G. NSS IROC / SC
H. GT / LMP

Not that the one set isnt looking good as it is, but just thought this one too ;)
