Our '60s and '70s classes - Historic Saloon, Vintage Sports and Group 5 Sports Cars - were run with six drivers competing and two marshals sorting out the de-slots. Vettel... er sorry, Luke B. dominated the event once again, taking pole in all three classes and breaking the G5SC lap record in the process.
The HS races were very competitive with the Escorts of Luke B. and myself sharing the first two places in all five races. Ramesh, Luke and Arden each took the third podium position for the class as the races progressed. Arden raced a beautiful new orange-coloured NSR Ford GT MkIV in the first two VS races, switching to a loaner Ford GT40 for the final three class races when he concluded that the MkIV's gearing was wrong. It won't be the last time we see that beauty run and it will only get faster. The front of the VS races was dominated by Luke B., with Ramesh, Luke and I sharing up the runner-up position for the five class races. Some of the most competitive racing was saved for last with our G5SC cars. Here the big fight was between Steve and Luke B. and it came down to the final race to determine a winner.
New Lap Records
- G5SC - 6.003 sec (Luke B., Slot.It Alfa-Romeo 33/3)
Congratulations to the winners.
