We'll be running our rally class in the not too distant future and we need to get the class regulations clear and fair for everyone before then. With this in mind, some weeks ago I performed the 45º test on two cars to see how they compare. Firstly, I set up a temporary 45º ramp comprising a half-straight and some props:
I then did the test with my Group 5 Sports Car Alfa, a car which runs in one of our lowest magnet downforce classes. Here's a video of the test:

As you can see, the low-magnet Alfa sticks to the track and doesn't roll down despite the 45º angle.
Now here's the same test with my magnet-less Alpine rally car:

In this case, you can see that the Alpine rolls down the sloped track.
This is a good illustration of the intent of our rally class, a class which is meant to be for magnet-less competition. I would like to propose that we adopt this to determine the magnetic aspect if a car's eligibility for our rally class. It is very easy for everyone to check his own cars at home using this technique.
