Racing this Thursday 9th August

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice/testing from 7:00 PM this Thursday, followed by qualifying and racing. Scheduled classes are Mini Challenge - 6 races @ 20 laps, Restricted GT - 5 races @ 35 laps, Slot.It Challenge - 5 races @ 35 laps. Note the new race laps and please bring your cars ready to go. Here's the proposed schedule:
  • 8:00 PM - Qualifying followed by racing. Drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any standby drivers who are ready.
  • After racing - More free practice and impromptu grudge races, followed by packing up and liming/old talk (again, because of the Friday holiday, as late as you want).
You can see all the class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Don't forget to bring along some refreshments.

Ice Brigade: Steve (1 bag please).

Well spotted Luke. I didn't know what car it was but liked the pic. Just looked up the Maserati and it looks like you could be right.

I believe the blue car is a Ferrari FXX, a development of the Enzo, produced for a 1-make series.

David, check out this vid of a real nice looking saucer with glowing brakes too :)

GG, it really does look like a Maserati (and I spelt it right this time) for real eh.

Luke, you were very close in thinking the car was a Maserati MC12. The Ferrari FXX and Maserati MC12 are very closely related (first cousins ?). Ferrari and Maserati have the same parent compant, Fiat.
Boo, I hope you can make it. Look forward to seeing your Saucer(!) run. Hope I don't get 'bowled' over by it.(Get it..bowl, saucer ??)
