First of all I think "Dallars" should not be allowed to use a 20K - 21.5K slot-it motor.
If I don't have a Historic Saloon car I don't race in that class, if I don't have a Slot-it Challenge car I don't race in that class.
It is one thing to tune the car with Gears and axel set ups and we have limited that. The offset pods for the SI challenge have been given the green light so everyone can use it and would want to use it because it is an advantage. We need one set of rules, especially with RPM. We can all run 21.5K but they won't fit in an F 1 car........and what class are we racing.....F 1 not Indy. Now what would have been the case if all the F1 cars had S-can motors instead of the FF type and the Indy cars had FF instead of S-can ? And the class was F1.
I remembered when my cockpit could not fit around the chip in my Escort and was told to put Silly Putty to add weight.
The one thing that should be constant is RPM.....in my opinion

Well I am one for sticking with the regs, whatever they are. I'm also one for altering the regs to make racing closer, but I prefer to do this in the least expensive and/or most practical way. Are those "fast" Dallaras complying with the regs? Do they have either the stock 18,000 RPM motor or the allowed Slot.It 21,500 RPM one, or are there other motors slipping into them? And what about those bona fide F1 cars? Do they have legal rear ends and magnet setups? Legal FF motors? Scaley has 20,000, 25,000 and 30,000 RPM FF motors. Scale Auto have 20,000, 25,000 and 38,000 RPM FF motors.
Maybe we really need to examine the winners (at least) in all classes to ensure that they comply with the regs.

Gordon - A Suggestion: Why wait on a winner to examine his car...before we start any kind of racing,let all racers display their class cars (without the bodies) on the front straight away for all to see if their car set up is sticking with the regs...
I have seen this done with those International Race Clubs on the net and it looks very effective.

While that is a good idea (if we have the time), once examined, drivers/car owners can still alter the car when they take it away. I sort of like the idea of examining just the winner (less time involved) and by doing it before the car is removed from the track after the race, we get to check the car exactly the way it ran.
Of course, time allowing (we all know what its like on race night and sometimes drivers change cars before the first race even starts), we can examine all cars before so that their owners are aware of any infringements before the first race, but I still think we need to check the winning car after each race.
