RACE REPORT #122 - APRIL 4TH 2013

Hi Guys,

We had a great turnout of ten drivers for our quickest classes, American Muscle, GT and LMP. Included in these were south boys Arden, Ramesh and son Luke and, as expected, they brought along stiff competition with their extremely fast cars. Nonetheless, it was no walkover and almost all the cars were capable of winning. In fact there were five different race winners in the twelve races run. For the first time in a while, we had A and B subgroups in one of the classes (LMP). Here are the qualifying time differences (from pole time to slowest time) in each class:
  • American Muscle - 0.962 sec (8 drivers, average time difference per car - 0.1203 sec)
  • GT - 0.774 sec (8 drivers, average time difference per car - 0.0968 sec)
  • LMP - 1.828 sec (9 drivers, average time difference per car - 0.2031 sec)
New Lap Records
  • LMP - 4.675 sec (Arden, Scalextric Peugeot 908 HDi FAP)
The results

Congratulations to the winners and record breaker Arden.

Next event's classes: We would normally be running Ferrari Team Challenge and Rally Car classes but Steve has asked that we put off the Rally class till Jonathan is back in T&T the following week, so we'll substitute Historic Saloon in its place, making our next event classes Ferrari Team Challenge - 6 races @ 30 laps, Historic Saloon - 3 races @ 30 laps. Don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Also of interest are the updated class average qualifying times.

See you on the circuit...

Great night of racing once again (although I only raced in 1 out of the 3 classes). Nice to see such a good turnout, with the 'southboys' making the long trek , at least for us 'town boys', to race at FRC. Good to see Boo still in good form after just becoming a daddy again. Good to see Kyle racing again too. Alex, you're not only a good driver but, it seems, a good driving instructor as well. Young Nathaniel certainly held his own against far more experienced drivers.Congrats to Luke on the overall win !
Thanks again to Gordon for hosting event and preparing the race report. I did not see the championship points here for AM and LMP (B) however.
Look forward to the next event !
