Luke,
Here are the times for SC for 2013 (fastest to slowest):
10/1/2013........Steve.............Toyota 88C...............5.696
7/3/2013..........Gordon..........Toyota 88C...............5.704
7/3/2013..........Luke B...........Riley MKXX...............5.776
7/3/2013..........Luke...............Lancia LC2...............5.845
7/3/2013..........Arden.............Mazda 787..............5.864
7/3/2013..........Ramesh.........Riley MKXX................6.123
10/1/2013........Kyle................Audi R8C.................6.604
7/3/2013..........David (Boo)...McLaren F1 GTR........6.609
10/1/2013........Nicholas E.....Audi R8C..................6.857
7/3/2013..........Mike................Audi R8C................8.147
If we were to set a target time for these what should it be? Let's say we set it at 6 sec, how do the cars under that time reduce their performance seeing that they are restricted to the tight SC regulations for things like motor pod, motor, magnet, etc.?
I do not like the idea of restricting anything for any class except by the car specs, however the target time idea seemed feasible as a solution to prevent classes from getting out of hand beyond what they were intended to be. Do you think that SC is getting out of hand? Do you think that any of the cars are not capable of matching others in the class? If so, why (since they all use the same spec parts)?

Re: Historic Saloon, Vintage Sports and Restricted GT classes
Gordon,
I believe you misunderstood Ramesh or he did not explain himself properly. We only have this time bracket in one class.
That is a special class to get individuals to get their cars up to speed and not demotivate them. Ramesh and my cars were going below 2secs and most of the others were like 2.1 - 2.6 secs. We detuned our cars to get them up to speed and have now made it in a permanent class called the 2sec GT.
What we do is we have an indexing system where we time most cars and try to get the best time possible for the class. This time is set but not cast in stone. If someone breaks out of this time with the exception of the 2 sec gt class his cars is scruteerned to make sure the cars is legal. Once it is legal a new index time is set.
The 2 sec class is an open class but restricted to two sec min if you break out you automatically go to last place in that race.
What you are doing by putting a time is called bracket racing then I can use any motor or magnet once I dont break out.
What you need to do is use your fastest time for all classes as the index. If any one breaks the time the car is inspected and checked to see that it does conform to the rules and if it doesn't you have a booboolee award LOL. If it does you have a new index time.
Index times will work best for stock class VS, HS, F1, and SC. All other classes are modified. Restricted GT should not even be a consideration.
Gordon my Killer car was almost banned at TSCC. You cannot do this you are going to stiffle the racers and kill the motivation and technology that racers are bringing to the table.
You all need to meet and have your pow pow. You now have too much information.
Please remember this is a Fun Track!

Guys this need to stop and wait until we all meet
