RACE REPORT #120 - MARCH 14TH 2013
Hi Guys,
We had just enough drivers for our first official Mini Challenge event to have a grid of six without any extra drivers having to stand by on the sidelines. With each driver driving each car over the six races, there were a mix of results, so much so that at the end it was anybody's guess as to who would be champion. Unfortunately for Steve, in one race he came upon a stationery Arden who was waiting for a deslotted car to be removed and suffered a stop and go penalty for deslotting Arden. Through a misunderstanding he never served the resulting penalty and was demoted from his first place to last. This lost him some precious points.
Before the Mini races, we had a test/practice session which saw various cars being taken through practice laps. I for one was able to refresh my memory about work needed on the five or so cars I tested from my stable, so it was certainly wotrhwhile for me.
The results
Next event's classes: Lambo Series - 6 races @ 30 laps, F1 - 3 races @ 30 laps, Modified Production - 3 races @ 30 laps. Don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Also of interest are the updated class average qualifying times.
See you on the circuit...
Gordon

Another enjoyable night of competition ! Racing the Minis was certainly fun and was at times very close on the track. Congrats Gordon, on winning the inaugural event. I really think that the cars should be left as they are...just fast enough but needing some careful throttle application to not overcook the corners. Well done, mechanic Luke ! Nice to see Boo appearing so regularly now . It was also great to see Paul put in a appearance. Hope to see him more often.
Looking forward to the next event.

Its was a good event. The mini do make you focus alot and Ibelieve it will certainly help me with my driving.
Sorry for making you lose some points Steve.
Boo learn to drive nah.
Good job in organizing the Mini Luke. I believe it should be included in the racing schedule and not as a one off.

Gordon - You keep proving how real good you are with this word called ~ Racing..!
Out of the 6 races - You, Steve & I came 1st. place twice but with you high up on the grid for your other 4 races did the job pulling off the overall win.
Your magic with "keep trying" paid off and for you currently holding 6 championship titles out of (now) 16 FRC racing competitions...
This new MC class was very enjoyable and I think it would have been even better if we did qualifying but guessing the excitement to race these 6 BMW Minis was great
I suppose it could be done next time but do you agree with Arden - that it should be included in the racing schedule and not as a one off.

Hi Arden, no need to be sorry about the lost points. I really should have paid more attention. Anyway, that's racing !!
