RACE REPORT #111 - OCTOBER 4TH 2012

Hi Guys. Sticking with the new race report format introduced last event (essentially just giving the statistics without a lot of talk), I'm just mentioning a few things about last night's event.

First of all it was great to have been able to introduce Peter de Montbrun - Mr. Scalextric of T&T - to FRC. Peter paid us a short visit and was able to test a few of my cars along with one of the FRC Porche Cup machines and seemed to quite like our facility. So Peter, you're always welcome at FRC and I look forward to seeing you in a competing role in the future.

Secondly, it was great to have a turnout of ten drivers, something that produced a lot of competitive fun with the added bonus of marshals.

Lastly, I thought I would mention that in the second LMP race Ramesh fell fowl of our stop-and-go penalty rule which demotes a driver to last place if he fails (or runs out of time) to do a penalty before the end of a race. Ramesh actually crossed the line first, however the penalty placed him last and moved everyone one place up from where they actually finished. Hard luck Ramesh, but I'm sure you won't make that error again.

Those points being made, its your chance to use your own words to paint a picture of the evening by commenting below.

Congratulations to the winners.

Next event's classes: Ferrari Team Challenge - 6 races @ 30 laps, Rally Car - three 5-lap stages per car (1 car at a time). The FTC class is a big challenge and is open to everyone as the cars are supplied by FRC. Its the only FRC class where the team is bigger than the individual. Likewise, our Rally Car class is unique in that drivers do the stages one at a time, however you've got to bring your own cars. Don't forget to see the updated fastest times for the FRC classes to know what the benchmarks are for your cars. Also of interest are the updated class average qualifying times.

See you on the circuit...

Arden, no need to apologise to me... I actually gained some ground on the others when you made the odd marshaling error :D

And by the way Arden, YOUR cars are even more impressive. Luke had a real monster in that Camaro of yours and your LMP Peugeot was unreal.

Gordon,

I believe the competition is getting better, this means everyone will have to be more creative in preparing their cars. This is very good for FRC. Maybe we will see some old records being broken soon. Hopefully I will be breaking some of them.
Remember you are the benchmark.

For me personally, my results was almost like those three 1's with the race report number 8-)  but never the less, I still had a BLAST with the night of FRC's Fastest Classes :!:

Who knows, from AM to GT & all but LMP if I didnt have that "brutal" DNS incident in the first race what might have happened ~ OMG, it made me feel so leftout in the "cold" in the LMP class but no scene because looking forward to next time around ;)

As GG would always say, its no fun racing without you guys so nice to see the big turnout it was...

Plus, have to say to GG - Great work done on your 3 cars, with me seeing how they all did 4 second times with you testing them out on the track.

But that Camaro of Arden's should be aka "White Lightning" because to me, it was almost (razor's edge) un-driverable. Thanks (Doctor) for giving me that drive. I was so light headed after those 3 races - trying to keep GG at bay and hearing everybody else asking "Who is driving that white car!"

I could understand (we all know) why you had that marshaling error ~ you were so bewildered by that slotcar "AM" build of your's and how great I was racing it around the track. heheheh

On another note GG ~ Hope everybody "north boys" taking note/notice how the 2 south boys split 4 big gunners @ FRC in the Champion Drivers of the night :)

Boo, sorry to say it but I may not be able to have racing on Tuesday. Debbie reminded me that we have a fund-raiser movie to attend for a relative which I should attend.
