We can all calculate this info in our heads & knowing how a racing group could take about 4 - 5 weeks to cycle around ...

Here's an estimated look for the amount of times (FRC "2015" Suggested) racing classes could be held with 52 (Thursday) weeks a year.
  • 4 - Mixed GT IROC
4 - Scalextric GT Challenge IROC (alternating)
    8 - Restricted GT

    8 - Historic Saloon
    4 - Vintage Sports
4 - Vintage Sports IROC (alternating)
    8 - Group 5 Sports Cars

    8 - Mini Challenge IROC
    8 - Rally Car

    8 - Modified Production
    8 - F1

    8 - Nissan GT-R Super Series IROC
    8 - Slot.It Challenge

    8 - AM
    8 - GT
    8 - LMP

Also, taking into consideration how we may not race every week - I can safely knock off about 4 weeks which totals (8 events x 6 groups) 48 for the list above.

Hope you'll enjoyed ~ for what this info is worth ;)

Nice job Luke. Realistically, we'll probably skip a few more weeks, but it's an interesting bit of info. Despite having all these classes, even though it's not practical, I think of a new class for us from time to time. One that's been on my mind for some time (and this was actually suggested to me on SlotForum years ago) is a '50s Grand Prix class. This would include cars like the Maseratis, Ferraris, Vanwalls, Lotuses, BRMs, etc. of the period. Some of the great drivers of those days were Fangio, Moss, Ascarii, Behra, Brooks, Collins, Hawthorne and so many others, pioneering and brave men of motor racing's past. Cartrix make a vast range of these cars. Have a look here:

To make racing these realistic, we'd want to run low-RPM motors and possibly no magnets. I'm sure they'd be lots of fun.

I came up with these stats GG because I kind of wondered how many times a racing class is done/held ~ so after I did the maths for a year, I posted it one time :D

Yes, I agree more weeks could be knocked off but its still good to know a FRC racing class could be done (at least) 6 times per year.

Those long ago Cartrix F1 cars looking like it would be very entertaining to race (no magnet & low rpm) as you suggested but I find the ($70 - $200) price is excessively high compared to present day ($40 - $70) Scalextric F1 cars, which is the model of choice.

All the same - the Cartrix 0925 Aston Martin DBR4 F1 car @ $90.00 would be my model of choice ;)

Look how the Stirling Moss (Cartrix 0911 Mercedes #6) model @ $200 is out of stock :o

Sounds interesting. For this class, I'd say definitely no magnets.

Hello Steve,

Already know how you like the style of none magnet racing but if the Cartrix F1s are interesting - which model would you like/choose out of those 20+ cars to race :?:
