Fellas ~ Any predictions that the fastest lap time (8 years ago) at this circuit is going to be broken this weekend..?

The Lap Record is 1:14:439 - M. Schumacher 2004

This weekend Practice is a sure sign it could be broken.

Practice 1 - Lap Time; 1:16:265 - F. Alonso 2012
Practice 2 - Lap Time; 1:15:746 - J. Button 2012 (Gap .519)
Practice 3 - Lap Time; 1:15:159 - N.Rosberg 2012 (Gap .587)

By P3, some super soft tyres in Q1, Q2 or Q3 and even full race mode, I think it could be done :!:

 Another .500 sec gap in qualifying could well do the trick :D

Luke

ps: Update after Qualifying:

I was very right about breaking the 2004 BLT this weekend but would have never guessed Schumi himself was going to do it... It's like he (schumi) was on this FRC forum too

Qualifying 3 - Lap Time; 1:14:301 - M.Schumacher 2012 (Gap .858 from P3 :o what a great  gap time that is to set) Commentary comment - The man still has teeth  in his mouth

You could just imagine what will happen with that BLT after the Grandest F1 GP Race tomorrow!

Luke, you're a real statistician man. You've got all the details (or think about them then look them up). Whatever the case, that's good stuff. In this case I too believe that it may well be broken tomorrow in qualifying, provided it isn't wet. It's also possible in the race which will be exciting as usual.

On another note, should we open FRC's forum to others and not just you, Steve and I? It would be interesting hearing others' comments, views and opinions.

Gordon, thank you for the compliment... Guess I was born that way and the internet only made it easier. Also, its nice of you to agree that the Monaco '04 BLT will be broken this weekend and from the qualifying (sure) you saw/heard how sunny it was/will be too on Sunday Race Day. It's going to be a CRACKER!!!

On the other note Arden (south boy) & David (boo) not bad at all on the forum... They are in the top 5 posting/replies members :D

Just last night on the phone, Arden and myself was talking about the use of the forum and how effective it is for the growth of FRC. I must tell you though, I am not for or against you opening up the forum to others but what is very noticeable is the large number of views there are on topics but not much replies.

WHY NOT ~ Give it a shot and see how it goes from there - I think you could/may only gain :)

I was really just kidding about opening the forum to others. As everyone here knows, all you need to do is register and you can comment to your heart's content. It was just a round-about way to try to get others to contribute. You're right about Boo and Arden. They both give us input here and Alex does too whenever he's had enough coffee :D

I get your point, however it would be nice to see a bit more interaction.
