I didn’t get to see this race on cable network other than the news results and plan on going to cable company (today) to enquirer about Formula One races ...
In order to see the F1 2018 season full coverage
There’s no doubt in my mind Fernando has a perfect shot upsetting two driver’s possible 5 times WC to become a 3 times World Champion

Luke, although I believe he has the driving ability to do so, he still doesn't have the car to achieve it. The McLaren is still not in the class of the Mercedes and Ferrari.

A-Okay Gordon but I don’t think these intense sounding words (said in that order below) by Alonso was just for the sake of saying.
” ... Long Seasons, Long Winters in the past but Now ... ”
Plus sure you would agree that cars during the seasonout of class became in the class and it’s known McLaren has those capabilities.
Now even though I may be a bit adventurous mentioning he (Alonso) could be a World Champ this year ~ it remains to be seen and still putting my money on
All the same thanks for your comments.

Formula One 2018 has come to a close and other than the first (outstanding) group of 6 F1 drivers with their overall (triple digit) points ...
01. Hamilton ....... 408 / Mercedes
02. Vettel ........... 320 / Ferrari
03. Raikkonen ...... 251 / Ferrari
04. Verstappen ..... 249 / Red Bull
05. Bottas ........... 247 / Mercedes
06. Ricciardo ....... 170 / Red Bull
Somewhat sad with, the second set of 6 F1 drivers and their final (double digit) points ...
07. Hulkenburg ..... 069 / Renault
08. Perez ............ 062 / Force India Mercedes
09. Magnussen ...... 056 / Haas Ferrari
10. Sainz ............. 053 / Renault
11. Alonso ........... 050 / McLarenRenault
12. Ocon ............. 049 / Force India Mercedes
All in all, favorite F1 driver Alonso finished up the season positively in 11th position and he did have his fight against Renault, Force India Mercedes and Haas Ferrari teams.
Interestingly enough, he also finished 11th spot in the (final) Abu Dhabi GP race
Out of the 21 F1 races, here are the amount of times with his finishing positions.
1/5th - 4/7th - 4/8th - 1/11th - 3/14th - 8/DNF
Not necessarily in that order but a job well done with the hardware given ...

Those 8 DNF races for Alonso. must have been why he wasn’t able to finish in a TOP TEN driver’s position.
Check out these Top 10 gut wrenchingDNFs with other drivers through the years.
