Wallerfield Racing Circuit

Post by Luke »

On the subject of the Wallerfield Race Track ...

Yesterday newspapers (Express Wed. 20th - page 70) had an article about a grand auto racing event taking place Sunday 24th July '16 @ Wallerfield ....

Noticed there were about 3 bright winning (racing driver) names while reading and yet somewhat dull not seeing a fourth .... with persons I know about and met through FRC.

1. Luke Bhola
2. Mark Gill
3. Franklyn Boodram
4. Gordon Gonsalves

My main thought was - didn't realize that this racing circuit (Wallerfield) was named after Frankie Boodram ..? Thinking about it a bit more, found it to be a very fitting and sounding title for the 40 years of history the name carries.

I also, did think it could have been suitable with the name G. Gonsalves :-)

Hello Ramesh,

Seeing you mentioned this here ...

I am sorry to reply that I didn't make it and as strange as it may sound with the 40+ years of Wallerfield's history ... This would have been my second time/visit to this track and thanks to you and Arden.

Know you know the saying - all's well that ends well - and I had all things in place showing up Sunday morning at WF but strange enough, it turned out that I strated to feel unwell (around 7:00pm) Saturday evening.

Pop a few pills going to bed early too but it didn't help the situation feeling any better - so much so I took a day off today as well.

However - when having a light breakfast this (Monday) morning .... My Dad called me to see on (Morning Edition) television news - that unfortunate Wallerfield racetrack incident yesterday evening which also didn't make me feel any better ..!

Maybe if we ever have a race track with hundreds of corners they may name one corner after me :)
