Seeing Fernando & Esteban F1 car crash on TV (in the dead of the night) was a very spine chilling one ... I found it to be phenomenal how Fernando just dust off his pants and walked away from his badly wrecked car. Also, the sportsmanship from Esteban was to the highest degree.
Personally - this horrific racing incident turned out to be nothing short of a MIRACLE!
I gave thanks to the Almighty God ~ that no one was killed or even hurt in this devastating (open wheel) car crash.

F1 2016 Australian GP
Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
We keep saying that F1 is so much safer than it used to be, but all it takes is one accident like this to realize that that it can still be lethal, despite the advances made in safety. Less than a year ago F1 lost Jules Bianchi. I was completely amazed when Fernando suddenly appeared from that terrific wreck, looking almost perfect. I think it was certainly miraculous.
Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
God has to get the glory , there was angelic presence although none of the announcers did not made any comment acknowledging this because of fear of offending anyone, but who saw the incident knew what they saw.
Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
Miraculous indeed Gordon and Ramesh, I have learnt that when you give God the glory - he gives you (sweetest part) the victory.
You and Gordon gave some very valid and truthful statements about this F1 crash.
Anyway - want to explain a situation I experienced just before this race.
I knew I was going to watch this televised midnight event ... mainly because I got a chance to take a rest (sleep a hour or two) evening before. I got up, did what I had to do and was back to sleep by 9:30pm ... I then got back up around 12 midnight and just in time to make a cup of hot milo and switch the TV on channel 161/FLOW - NBCSN network. Simply not to miss the opening of the F1 2016 season in Australia.
Now for the persons who know me ... I don't have to explain (this part) much, what a Big Fan I am of F. Alonso and for as long (2002 to 2016) he has been racing F1 cars too.
All the same - while sitting comfortably (in the dead of the night) I got a feeling and just like that too, to say a prayer for Alonso. At first I found it strange, that I should think like that and sort of not bothered with but the same feeling came back again ... just before the race and much stronger. Right away - I knew what it was all about but still I wasn't too sure why I must do this for Alonso, who is on the other side of the world. However - I found it easy to do (say a prayer) being one of his biggest fans ...
Just for the record - remembered some of my words because it wasn't that long ... example: Lord God - thanks for the help with me getting to watch this F1 race and I ask of you, in your son's precious name Jesus Christ to give "my boy" Fernando favour and protection he needs during this race.
Little did I know what was going to happen (because the guy could have died) and for those of you who saw what happened ~ the rest is history.

Hi guys , very good testimony Luke T i appreciated you sharing on the power of prayer , thanks.
Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
Hello Gordon,
I am really glad that those two F1 guys are alive and well to continue racing in 2016 but I found something wasn't looking too correct (for one reason or the other) with this MASSIVE CAR CRASH ..
Firstly - I did a small (youtube) study wondering why and how come Esteban ended up in front of Fernando, knowing very well that Esteban started way behind him ...
This is what I sort of (not totally) came up with - for lap numbers and the positions these 2 drives held at that time before accident.
Strangely enough though, what I did notice with Esteban's car ... Is how it changed blocking positions twice and very fast, when I believe you can only do this F1 racing maneuver once... So in a sense - that was the reason Alonso's right front hit Esteban left rear tyre and totally taking them out in the process ... Which had me wondering why this crash was called a racing incident. When clearly it doesn't look so in the youtube vids. Sad to say though - I feel at such high speeds Esteban knew what was going to happen (maybe a mistake) with that second blocking maneuver.
Is someone (by chance) in big places/positions helping pull the wool over everyone's eyes ..
Sure you remember that line (with the 23K rpm motors) for this sort of thing.

- Start .... ALO/12 and GUT/20
Lap 01 - ALO/10 and GUT/20
Lap 10 - ALO/10 and GUT/19
Lap 12 - ALO/09 and GUT/18
Lap 14 - GUT/14 and ALO/15
Lap 16 - GUT/13 and ALO/14

Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
I firmly believe the stewards who investigated this horrific F1 crash and came up with a decision - neither driver to be at fault ... and consider it to be a racing incident.
Feel that - this decision wasn't Spot On at all ..!
They really need to go back & check over whatever video footage they used because it appears they only viewed it once - for who caused this BIG F1 ACCIDENT ..!
Some commentary about Esteban Gutierrez slowing down or braking a bit too early and Fernando Alonso not expecting ~ doesn't sound/look too correct either. There are 3 to 4 bright orange braking markers (think they are 50 meters apart) and Alonso took out the last one way after contact in this youtube vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB7fkXtdluw showing good (ground and air) footage that Esteban is the one at fault for this massive car crash.
Looking at footage (0.38 to 0.41 seconds) anyone will/could notice - its that second blocking (drifting) maneuver that caused the accident.
So how in the world can they call this a RACING INCIDENT
I am watching F1 races since 2001 and could count on one hand how much I didn't see but clearly this accident (topic) has been on my mind since last week Sunday.

Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
Me again (mostly) on this particular topic here guys,
I am now recognizing this (devastating) massive car crash as a RACING INCIDENT.
All the time, I was mostly understanding the crash somewhat from Alonso's car and thinking how Gutierrez was trying "big time" to block him. So now understanding the crash from Gutierrez car and seeing the (slipstream) speed Alonso was coming at and he (Gutierrez) slowing down sooner than expected ... This new F1 guy must have presumably panic and made a very big mistake with that aggressive overtaking maneuver from Alonso and just didn't know where to go - other than just staying in his original racing line.
Just like how Alonso and Webber are best of friends - Gutierrez probably became best of friends too
I may stand corrected but my thoughts are all settled with this deadly incident and puts me back to this worded line - I gave thanks to the Almighty God ~ that no one was killed or even hurt in this devastating (open wheel) car crash.
Also guys - with the word mostly ... I was on the forum the most lately and feel I should lessen up on for awhile.
Just saying okay and no hard feelings cool.

All because I kept looking at vid footage every time I get a chance and strangely - looked at it from another POV ... and as the saying (and just saying) goes - put oneself in someone else's shoes.Luke wrote:Looking at footage (0.38 to 0.41 seconds) anyone will/could notice - its that second blocking (drifting) maneuver that caused the accident.

In life, its always good (and often important) to try to look at things from the other person's point of view. In my opinion, its also the Christian thing to do, so well done Luke.
Re: F1 2016 Australian GP
Thanks Gordon but had to dig deep getting there with this second viewpoint
Kind of wondering what's your take with this F1 accident though?
We can talk about/further on Thursday race night.
Enjoy the public holiday tomorrow.
