GG,

I would like to ask for your opinion/views on these (2) brands of 21K rpm rated motors ...

Knowing you have put these type motors to use in different racing 132 cars/classes.
  • Pioneer Typhoon Motors 21K rpm ........ $11.70US
    Piranha Slot Motors 21.5K rpm ............ $ 8.00US
Now, other than the price - one costing more than the other ...

 Which one would you choose (one over the other) for its working order on your racing track .. :?:

Thanking you in advance,

Luke

Luke, I believe that the Piranha is a bit of a wilder motor. Bear in mind that I have not actually raced my Pioneer Mustang with its stock motor which was 18k and not 21k. Not sure which motor the stock Pioneer Mustangs now come with.

Thanks GG ...

... and somewhat understanding that the Pioneer 21K rpm motor is the smoother (milder) of the 2 motors in a working order on your racing track.

Here's two (2) sets of racing components:
  • • 6 pcs. Piranha Slot Motors 21.5K rpm ...................................................................................... @ 8.00 = $48US
    • 3 pks. Slot.it SIPS11 Pinions 11T Sidewinder Brass - 6 pcs. .......................................................... @ 4.00 = $12US
    • 6 pks. Maxxtrac Tyers Silicone - 2 x M02X, M21X & M45X ............................................................ @ 6.00 = $36US

    • 6 pcs. Pioneer 253-K Typhoon ............. 21K rpm Motors splined shaft ........... $11.70 each .................... $70.20US
    • 2 pks. Scalextric W8200 ....................... 11T sidewinder Pinions plastic .......... $ 2.99 pack of 4 ............... $ 5.98US
    • 6 pks. Maxxtrac Tyres .......................... Silicones 2 x M02X, M21X & M45X .... $ 6.00 each ..................... $36.00US
This said and fyi - I would like to hear your thoughts on ...

These 2 sets of new components (to choose from) for the SGTC class of cars and all in time for 2016 .. :?:

Why don't we do the tyres first? I believe that a tyre change is virtually a requirement at this point.

If the guys want to go with a motor change after the January event, we can then decide which motor to use.

Good advice GG and you too Steve ... About tyres first and (maybe) motors afterwards ...

Now although I said - I am in the process of organizing an order from either Professor Motor or 132Slot Car - for these type items.

I would now like to back out this idea (of mines) and suggest that contributions can be made to FRC ~ purchasing/ordering these 6 pairs of silicone tyres.

Fellas,

FRC's first meeting for the year is in the making ...

On Thursday 18th. February 2016 and here's an update already with the top of page one.
  • • PC .................................. Rubber to Silicone tyres
    • LS ................................................. Silicone tyres
    • FTC ................................ Rubber to Silicone tyres
    • MC ................................. Rubber to Silicone tyres
    • NSS ............................... Rubber to Silicone tyres
    • SGTC ............................. Rubber and going on Silicone tyres hopefully in time for its next performance :)
All involved should be cool with this (only) change ~ for now with this class of IROC cars.
