Guys,
We have two successive weekends of 1/1 racing to look forward to, starting with the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Qualifying takes place tomorrow after lunch and the race is around the same time on Sunday.
The following weekend is the annual running of the Le Mans 24 hour race in France and is the premier endurance race in the calendar. This year the three big teams in LMP are Audi, Porsche and Toyota and anyone who saw the season opener at Spa will have to be excited about what will happen at Le Mans. It's already been predicted to be the longest distance ever covered and lap times the fastest ever. The race starts on the Saturday morning and finishes 24 hours later.
You can check TV listings for the exact broadcast times and channels.
Don't miss them!

Re: Canadian Grand Prix and Le Mans
Should be a very exciting race, now with 5 teams in LMP1. Still prefer the sound of the GT cars though, whose power is all sourced from internal combustion.
If I want to experience powerful electric motors, I'll come to FRC !

Re: Canadian Grand Prix and Le Mans
I'm sure that I'll always prefer internal combustion engines to electric motors Steve.

Re: Canadian Grand Prix and Le Mans
Hello Gordon, Ramesh and others,
Real exciting looking LMP machinery (especially the TOYOTA) but I find the wheelbase proportion on some of the cars looking longer than normal ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zieVq1JDAEo
Anyway - here's a youtube vid of the frightening 2011 Audi car crash we talked about @ Thursday race night. Imagine nobody died (even the driver) in this horrifying accident. I believe it was God's intervention nobody died - if you look closely, you will practically see God's hand holding back the car just about to go over the tyre barrier hitting all persons up against the wall and how they had nowhere to go.
When looking at the vid, what's that white glowing light at the top right hand corner and notice how its always in the path of the car all the time
Thanking God here, through is Son for the protection.
Luke

Re: Canadian Grand Prix and Le Mans
Yes Luke, that was quite an accident and amazing that no one was hurt. With respect to this year's Le Mans, it was an exciting race in all four categories - LMP1, LMP2, GTE Pro and GTE Am. Here are the full results courtesy Wikipedia:
