Coke treatment for braids

Has anyone used (or even heard of) the method of using Coke to clean their slot car braids ?

Never heard of it but from things I've read about Coke, it tends to eat into things when left soaking in it, so it may well clean braid.

If you use it, clean it off the braid before putting it on the track though (especially at FRC!).

Had no intention of using it (especially as I hear it's been known to work well as a toilet bowl cleaner ), just as I don't plan to break-in my motors in water.

Steve (after all this time) why such a question when you already know what you were going to do...

Have you seen any backup info for this "Coca Cola" cleaning method on braids?

Why the trouble when braids are in abundance...

There is sufficient facts on other forums using "distilled" water for running/breaking in motors.
