My cars for this week's MP and F1 racing

Post by gordon »

I spent Saturday afternoon, Sunday and today's Divali holiday preparing five cars for this week's racing. Starting with Modified Production, I made changes to my BMW Mini and my Mustang Notchback. I then went on to my F1 Brawn and McLaren. Today was all about prepping my latest car, a Racer Sideways-series Zakspeed Capri gifted to me by my good old friend and great real-car driver Gary Huggins. Gary was also one of the guys that I raced slot cars with on a regular basis as a boy, along with O'Brie and others. The car had been sitting untouched for weeks but I finally got it set-up for initial tests as a Mod Prod car.

Here are the three MP cars ready to go:

Here's the Capri's chassis underside view in stock condition:

So, my cars are ready for Thursday. Are yours?

Nice work Gordon. Five cars ready !! That Capri sure looks interesting, especially with the change from anglewinder to inline. Who knows, there could be a Capri vs Capri showdown !

As usual - neat looking work (tuning 132 cars) with such commitment fuelling encouragement ...

Take for example with the before and after pics.

Notice some interesting work done with front body screw and the sensor (bulls eye spot) in the "sideways" sign.

A-okay GG ...

I am so sorry & how thoughtless one can be at times.

I just figure out "why" about those body/chassis screws ...

Sure you will agree that one's brain power is much sharper in the morning after a good night's (6 to 8 hours) rest of course.

Anyway - I would like to let you know and on the grounds of 5 of your very neat looking 132 cars ~ seeing such commitment fuelling encouragement ...

I finished off some 132 tuning, which I started Monday night (and most of public holiday Tuesday) with my F1 and MP cars for this Thursday FRC event. So you don't have to think about - giving up with - me setting up my own digital cars just yet okay :)

I also used most of this time sorting out and packing away many slotcars, spare parts and instrument I had placed (over the months) all around my personal space at home.

Must say - it feels great seeing clear and clean spaces that use to be there plus all in time for - 'tis the season.

Mind you - the only problem though ... Is how long would it remain so :D

It's great to hear that you've prepped some cars for tonight's racing Luke. I also find that when I do some house-cleaning I can think and work (and relax) better. See you later!
