Hello All,
Firstly - Happy for Trinidad and Tobago celebrating 53 years of Independence
I will try to be as brief as possible with this written account about Sunday 30th. August @ TSCC ...
If I had to describe this racing event to anyone in a short sentence, I would say -
It was a BLAST !!!
Although, thinking back the only part of this event that didn't turn out as planned - was the (1:00 pm) time it was suppose to start.
All the same and as the saying goes as a true
TRINI -
when we hear a time, we add on an extra hour ...
... because Bethany and myself was at the
South Racing Ring at exactly 2:12 pm ... We left Petit Valley around 11:45 am and knew we had one stop to make for gas and cooler refreshments. We figured we had enough time to reach TSCC for 1:00 pm but what wasn't expected was how the entire length of the south highway was (at least to me) full right down with political bandwagons. The good part about this drive was - the traffic wasn't at anytime at a long standstill but it did make us use up an extra hour reaching Marabella.
Strangely enough though - I think this is what also caused the TSCC racing proceedings to start late (3:00 pm) but nonetheless - from the time Ramesh got on the microphone for the first racing class of DTM Mercedes ... It was in a sense - like
5 red racing lights going out for a full evening of racing. Arden on the other hand was back and forth seeing about the evening happenings and knowing TSCC being his place of business - he was also seeing about other things in the office.
Anyway - there was so much people present at this event with lots of refreshments at hand & 2 huge racing tracks -
One main 6 lane circuit for the serious competitors and the other extra 4 lane layout for the younger ones and (none racing competitors) grownups - one couldn't help noticing all persons having lots of racing fun, crashes and laughter
In my races I had a time in DTM (all 6 cars working really nice) Mercedes class and placed either 4th.or 5th. in the finals ... I didn't do so well in the LMP class (maybe being the only Peugeot 908 against 5 MG Lolas) and in the SW
Stock - my car just wasn't up to speed ... because I did even qualify in the top 12 drivers. I can't recall all that happened but know I couldn't stay on for the (Muscle Car
Modify) 4th. class. I do remember seeing all racing competitors having a great time though
Bethany had an enjoyable evening and competing in her age group of 132 racing but I knew she couldn't go the distance with all that racing and we were back home (strangely enough) at exactly 9:12 pm - a precise time of 7 hours ...
All in all - with all these explained activities happening all in one place, sure anyone
(that wasn't there) can paint a picture how things went at this Grand TSCC Event ...
A special thanks to Arden and Ramesh hosting such an enjoyable racing event.
Luke
