Hi Guys,

Well I worked on my new Peugeot 205 T16 rally car this weekend and its now chipped and ready for its first track session. Pity we aren't racing this week, but we'll see how it goes next week.

The other cars we'll be racing next week are the Mini Challenge IROC Minis. I spent some time today balancing the magnets. Before balancing they ranged from 127 gm down to 78 gm, a difference of 49 gm. After balancing they now range from 130 gm down to 125 gm, a difference of only 5 gm, so they should be a lot more even in performance and at the high end of their original downforce range.

GG,

A job well done with that spanking new rally car of yours and I'm noticing the chip isn't visible (inside cockpit) which means you got it to fit nicely somewhere on the chassis ... The pic of that car looks really remarkable and suppose you very excited to execute some very fast 5 lap stages ..!

I wouldn't have believed anybody else with those (6 MC cars) magnet readings being 127 to 78 gm down force and must complement you on that perfect reading of 130 to 125 gm ~ one could just have a mental picture of the close racing the Red Carpet Boys :D going to do with those 6 BMW Mini Cars.

Gordon - If you and others are wondering the names or who are the Red Carpet Boys ..?

Its always (or whoever are) the 6 drivers that qualified for FRC's Group A racing events.

Sure you'll know what I mean by that :)

Interesting name Luke. I guess in the future you'll abbreviate it as RCB or RCBs :)

I suppose so Gordon and I guess so Ramesh :)

Cant say exactly how I came up with that name but read this story for what The Red Carpet Boys - reminds me of ...

Way back in the early 80s (20 at the time) I worked for a well known automobile company ... There was a manager who the boss had a lot of faith in, getting work done efficient and fast. His name was Azad and there was a big job @ hand - of course it had to get done in a certain time. So Azad was the man for the job and he asked the boss for five guys to help him. The boss told him okay but make sure and choose the best 5 guys for the job. Well, that didn't go down too well with the other 10 workers ... because when he chose the 5 guys and (me being one) plus Azad being a bit over weight. The other not so happy guys, made sure & labeled us with a not so cool name. We were aka: The Fat Boy 5 and I could still remember the names of those other 4 guys ~ Mervin, Claude, Kumar & Kenneth.

We (1+5 persons: just like a full racing grid) worked so well together getting that certain job done (among other important ones) that the boss had the 5 of us down as his permanent & elite work force. Plus, for as long as the 2 years I worked there ... I cant remember how the Fat Boy 5 fell apart but what I always remembered is the good times we had working efficiently together. Azad even got us lunch, seated (as a group) in some cool looking air condition restaurants at times and sure anyone will understand how nice that feels, after you were toiling in the hot sun. I came across a few of these guys once in awhile but strangely, Azad & Claude are the only two I haven't seen at all (never knew why) but nevertheless - we where a real cool bunch of guys working together.

Get the picture :D
